So sorry for my absence the last couple of weeks…I had some sick kiddies at home but now all are well and back to school :-)
Well in the next couple of months we have both Mothers Day and Fathers Day coming up and I figured I need to come up with some ideas for both to share. I received a fabulous card in a recent swap and decided that I just had to make one for myself – it uses the stamp set ‘And Many Mower’ from the Occasions Mini Catalog which is just perfect for Fathers Day cards – and don’t forget that right now for every $40 you spend on merchandise from the Occasions Mini you get to choose one item from the ‘Under $10’ section on pg 208 of the Spring Summer Catalog for FREE :-)
This card has a Chocolate Chip cardstock base. I took a piece of Sage Shadow cardstock and dry embossed it using my Big Shot and the Texturz Background Plates 1 which you can find on pg 203 of the Spring Summer Catalog – and I distressed the edges using my scissors and adhered it to the card base.
I stamped my image from ‘And Many Mower’ using Stazon Black Ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and colored it using Markers and a Blender Pen. I matted this image onto a piece of Always Artichoke cardstock. I then took a piece of Designer Series Paper from the To The Nines pack and tied around a piece of 1/4″ Chocolate Chip Grosgrain ribbon securing a white tee in the knot to continue the golf theme. I then adhered this and the image onto the card base.
Finally I stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip Ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and used my Large Oval Punch to cut it out. I then layered this onto a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock that I punched out using the brand new Scallop Oval Punch that you can find in the Occasions Mini Catalog and adhered it to the card base using Dimensionals – a voila – a fabulous Father’s Day card :-)
