This weekend for me is Clean and Simple Weekend! I know that sometimes I want to make cards that I can make a batch of fast for gifts and figure you do too and so today I came up with a very quick and easy idea…
Today’s card features a stamp from the set Tart & Tangy – another set that you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration!
Tart & Tangy is a set featuring 4 fruit – what a perfect set for the upcoming warm seasons ahead – and one of those fruit is an apple…
So I put my thinking cap on and came up with a clean & simple card that you can quickly and easily make a batch of – package them up with envelopes, tie a ribbon around them and what a great teacher gift they would make…
Sooo simple…my base is Whisper White card stock onto which I layered a white mat sized 4″ x 5 1/4″ – I added that mat using Dimensionals and doing this alone jazzes up a simple card and takes it to another level…
I stamped my apples using a stamp from Tart & Tangy with Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive ink and used my Stamp-a-majig to position them just where I wanted them – I cut out my apple strip to be sized 3 3/4″ x 1 1/2″ and layered it onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock sized 4″ x 1 3/4″, again using Dimensionals.
The trick to get those solid images nicely stamped? Ink Refills! You have to have your Ink Pads nice and juicy and full of ink – if not, you will get spotty images – and what better time is there to stock up on Ink Refills for your ink pads than during Sale-a-bration? My sentiment? From the set Trendy Trees (pg 100) that I stamped onto my white layer BEFORE adding it to my card base – if you are adding a layer with Dimensionals be sure to stamp on that layer first – it’s almost impossible to stamp on it after adding it!
