It’s that Holiday Card Challenge time again!!! I took a break last week due to the Online Extravaganza kick off but now we continue…

To find out details of what my Holiday Card Challenge is about please look to the end of this post – EVERY participant who takes part & emails a card to me gets a freebie in the mail and you never know, you might be the weekly winner and get a fab prize – so it’s worth joining us!

AND the winner of the last week’s Holiday Card Challenge is at the end of this post so please read on to find out who it was!

Sooo…what am I challenging you to use this week?  This week I am challenging you to use an Ornament on your card…stamped, die cut, punched…as long as you use Stampin’ Up! products, the choice is yours!

Now this week I decided to show you a card that I received in a swap at Founders Circle…the talented Nancy Lewis made this card featuring a die cut ornament from Designer Series Paper and it is just GORGEOUS…

The card base is Cherry Cobbler onto which is layered a piece of Very Vanilla…

See those tree branches? Aren’t they awesome?  Nancy made them by using a stamp from the set Watercolor Winter (pg 14 of the Holiday Catalog) and stamping it using two different greens, stamping the darker green on top of the lighter one.

And you know what? To make it even cooler Nancy then stamped the branch stamp over the inked images using Versamark and Iridescent Ice to give some sparkle & bling…

Not used Iridescent Ice before?  Find it on pg 159 of the Catalog – and click HERE to find my step-by-step printable tutorial showing you how to use it – it’s fun!

The ornament…Nancy used a die from Holiday Ornaments Framelits (pg 3 Holiday Catalog) to cut her ornament out of a piece of patterned paper from the pack Be of Good Cheer DSP (pg 164)…

She then Paper Pierced an ornament shape on the Vanilla cardstock using one of Stampin’ Up!’s plastic templates, from the Festive Paper Piercing Pack (pg 30 Holiday Catalog) – an easy way to add a wow factor to your holiday cards…

She attached the ornament onto the card using Dimensionals and tied a piece of Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine and tied in a bow at the top to make the ornament look like it is hanging from the tree…

The Sentiment…is from one of my favorite sets More Merry Messages (pg 15 Main Catalog) – if you don’t have it, I highly recommend it – you will use it for many years to come!

Have fun making your cards this week – and don’t forget to email them to me…we’d love to see your creations and you will get goodies in the mail from me PLUS you could be the next Winner of the Week!
