Every year I think I have plenty of time to make my Halloween goodies…and every year I get to mid-October and realise that I should have started way earlier!!!

So with the debut of the Holiday Catalog I decided that this is the perfect time to get going on my projects and I have the first one done already!!!

When I first opened up that gorgeous Holiday Catalog one stamp really caught my eye – Halloween Happiness that you can find on pg 20 – which features a very cute row of pumpkins and I saw the flexibility of this one cute stamp right away – and it is the first that I just had to try out…

I just LOVE how striking this card is – the black & white just pops…

The card base…is simply Basic Black onto which I layered a piece of Whisper White (sized 5 1/4″ x 4″) – I added a piece of Basic Black Chevron Ribbon onto that white layer to give a very simply but striking background feature.

That black die cut frame…isn’t that cool?  And a super easy addition – you don’t even need a die cutting machine!  Where did I find it?  It is one of the items in the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit that you can find on pg 18 of the Holiday Catalog – we are a very casual family and I knew that I wouldn’t make place settings using that kit and so I decided to see what other uses I could find for the items in it – and this is the first use – isn’t it cool?

That image…I stamped my pumpkins using Versamark Ink, sprinkled on Black Embossing Powder and set it with my Heat Tool – this gives a beautiful black shiny look.  I then used my Paper Snips to cut out my row of pumpkins and attached them to a white mat using Dimensionals.

That sentiment…is also on the same stamp – I simply stamped & embossed the wording and trimmed to size, also using Dimensionals to add it to my card base.

Finishing touch…I added a Black Candy Dot from Neutrals Candy Dots at the beginning of the sentiment giving a simple & easy little wow factor…I LOVE that you can use those little Candy Dots without having to attach them to a brad base – because they already have a glue dot added to them, you can use them in the same way that you use your Rhinestones & Pearls – cool, eh?

But honestly I cannot believe that I am making Halloween cards right now…today is forecast to be 103 here in Central Texas and it really doesnt feel like those crisp mornings are anywhere close!
