I find that I love to work with some color collections more than others…and for many cards I find myself reaching for colors from the Neutrals collection…I think I find them very restful in an otherwise crazy busy life!!!

But often I just use them as accent pieces, so today I decided to be different and to make a card using only neutral colors along with a bold & beautiful feature stamp that I found in Blessed Easter (pg 20 Occasions Catalog)…

I also wanted to show you how versatile this beautiful tulip stamp is and how you can use it outside of Easter projects…

Everyone needs birthday cards on hand, right?  And this card is just perfect for making a bunch of…and you can even use up those scraps of patterned papers as you go to create beautiful, useable cards!

The card base…is Crumb Cake onto which I layered a piece of Soft Suede sized at 3 3/4″ x 5″ – that gives you a nice wide border around the edges.

The patterned paper strips…all three of those gorgeous patterns are from Fresh Prints DSP (pg 33 Occasions Catalog) and I cut them to be 3/4″ wide.

The tulips…those beautiful tulips are featured on the stamp Blessed Easter along with a sentiment – I decided to only use the image of the tulips on my card and so I used masking tape to cover the sentiment whilst I inked my flowers up, then removed the tape when I stamped it down – that way the words are not inked and the only image is of those flowers – when you do this, you will find that your stamp can be used for many more occasions than making Easter cards!

I attached my tulip image to my card using Dimensionals and then wrapped around a piece of Linen Thread (pg 173) a couple of times and finished with a bow in front…

The sentiment…is from the set Bring on the Cake (pg 14) and is added to that flower layer using Dimensionals.

The finishing touch…is the beautiful ribbon that you can see on the left side – the photo of this card at the top of this post just does not do those loops justice – they look so beautiful and ‘loopy’ in real life!  I simply took a piece of Crumb Cake 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon (pg 173) and folded it back on itself a couple of times to make the loops and then slide it under my sentiment…

Here are those gorgeous loops…what a feature!!!  I promise that they make the whole card just gorgeously luxurious…check them out…

I also loved this card without that touch of luxury – this is what it looks like without the loops…

Plainer looking…but simple is good too…and honestly I think I love ’em both!
