I wanted to make some customer thank you cards today and with the weather warming up nicely, I decided on a bright and bold theme…

And so I dug out one of my favorite punches and got to work – the punch I decided to use is a sweet floral shape called Pansy and you can find it on pg 183 – it is perfect to use on it’s own as I did on my card below, or you can layer it to give more of a ruffled shabby chic look.

Here is my sweet simple card…

I love the simplicity of this and how that flower just pops right out of the white background!

The card base…I wanted a smaller square shaped card and so I cut a piece of Whipser White to be 8″ x 4″ – I scored at 4″ to give me a card base size of 4″ x 4″.

I then added a layer of Tangerine Tango sized 3 3/4″ square and then another layer of Early Espresso sized at 3 1/4″ square – I love how making the orange border wider gives a nice matted & framed look to the top feature layer.

The feature layer…is simply a piece of Whisper White sized at 3″ square and onto it I mounted my flower and stamped my sentiment…

The sentiment…I used a stamp from the set Happy Watercolor (pg 22 Occasions Catalog) to stamp my ‘thank you’ using Early Espresso Ink…

The flower…was made using a scrap of Tangerine Tango and the Pansy Punch (pg 183) – LOVE this punch – and into the center I added a large clear button from Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons (pg 169)…

SARAH’S TIP: I used a Mini Glue Dot (pg 174) to secure my clear button to the flower center – the beauty of these glue dots is that they are also clear and so you can’t see them through the button – and they are super quick & easy to use – in fact I used one to secure my flower to the card base too!

The finishing touch…is a piece of White Bakers Twine (pg 173) that I tied through the button and finished with a bow…

I love how quick & easy this card was to put together – and love the sweetness of that flower…
