So yesterday I mentioned that the colors on my card made me want a big bowl of ice cream…mmm…one of the perks of the summer heat along with frozen yogurt…

And so I decided to make a card with an ice cream theme…but my creative mojo is taking a while to come back and so I did some searching and I came across a really neat card made by Carrie Rhoades which gave me inspiration – a big thank you Carrie!

The ice cream is made using stamps from the set Sprinkles of Life which is this year’s Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set – you can find it on pg 189 and I have to say I think that it is just the best RMHC set that has ever been produced AND it has the co-ordinating Tree Builder Punch making using it a piece of cake – excuse the pun!

Here is my card…isn’t that ice cream just delicious to look at?!

Oh I love those colors…soft…pastel…ice cream flavors…lol!

The card base…is simply Whisper White onto which I layered a piece of white textured with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder – what a great subtle but bold backdrop…

The banners…I then stamped the sentiments using Early Espresso ink onto strips of Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride cardstock and shaped the ends using the fab new Banner Triple Punch – LOVE how easy it is to make banner ends using it!

I attached them to the card base and slightly curled up the ‘happy birthday’ tag for a bit of dimension…

The ice cream…I stamped the ice cream stamp onto piece of Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride and Tip Top Taupe cardstocks and punched them out using the Tree Builder Punch which co-ordinates perfectly with this stamp set…

I stamped the cone onto So Saffron and cut it out using paper snips – and then assembled my ice cream on the card front using Dimensionals.  To top it off, I added a little heart that I punched out of Watermelon Wonder using the cute heart punch that you can find in Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and added a little Candy Dot to the side of it…

The finishing touch…I popped a little silver staple using my Handheld Stapler at the top of the banner – that little accent just finishes it off nicely!

Again, a big thank you Carrie for helping to get my crafting mojo back in action…it’s working…I am already working on tomorrow’s card which is part of a thank you packet for my Paper Pumpkin subscribers so be sure to pop back and see it!
