I am super excited to be part of a brand new monthly Design Challenge with my fabulous Inky Friends and you can play along too!
We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who met through an online community and during the second weekend of every month we hold monthly blog hops under a common theme. Now we are adding a Design Challenge each 4th Friday of the month to showcase our creativity and help inspire others and we hope that you will play along with us too!
I am super excited to be part of the Design Team for this and every month you will see cards on the blog that the Design Team Members have made to give you inspiration and help you see some different ways that you can use the sketch.
Each challenge will run for two weeks and at the end we pick a winning card – we invite you to be a part of it so please CLICK HERE to find out all the details!
The first Design Challenge is this sketch below which is based on the card featured on pg 61 of the Annual Catalog…
Here is the card that I created for this challenge using the above sketch…isn’t that Panda just ADORABLE?! He is one of three from the brand new upcoming Sale-a-bration set Party Pandas that is just one of the items that you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase starting January 3rd!
It’s a bit tricky to see, but the white background is textured using the Polka Dots Basics Embossing folder and for the ribbon I used some Black Mini Sequin Trim.
The Panda is stamped using nice dark black ink and shaped with an oval die from Stitched Shapes Framelits – the banner he is holding uses another stamp from that set and is shaped with a die from Popcorn Box Thinlits…
And that pretty pink flowery background paper – oh my cuteness! It is a sheet from the new Myths & Magic Specialty DSP and the sparkly layer behind it is from Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper – it is different from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper in that it only has sparkles of white and a pale green.

In a nutshell – this is how it works:
- Every 4th Friday of the month a new sketch can be found on the Inky Friends blog by clicking HERE
- Follow the general design of the sketch, although it can be flipped – for a color challenge, the colors you must use are listed – you can use compatible colors and add neutrals as needed.
- Create something new that has not been posted before
- Post your creation on your blog or online gallery and please provide a link back to our challenge to the Inky Friends blog – provide a direct link to your project or post to the Linky which you can find at the END of our post
- YOU HAVE TWO WEEKS TO PLAY ALONG – after then, the challenge will be closed and WE PICK A WINNER – it could be you!

That panda is too cute!! Great card — I love the pop of pink!
I’m pretty sure I need this Panda in my life. He is so cute holding that letter and he fits perfectly in the stitched oval. I love that piece of DSP you put with it. This is a very cute card!
