One of my favorite color combos to use is brown and blue which I love to use with floral themes – those colors just work together so well…

Today I decided to show you a striking yet clean and simple card that you can make on a budget using just 3 colors and 1 stamp set…it is fun and very easy to make and perfect to make a bunch of to have on hand for thank yous and birthdays…

The stamp set I used to make it is Bold Blossom and you can find it on pg 31 of the Occasions Mini Catalog – it is a set of 4 priced at just $9.95 and includes both the flower & sentiment stamp I used below…

Isn’t it cute?  The colors I used are Baja Breeze, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake and of course Whisper White to stamp my images onto.

To give a bit of texture and a feature to my card I scored gridlines – I cut a piece of card stock to measure 4″ square and used my Paper Cutter with the score blade inserted to score lines at 1″, 2″ and 3″ – I then turned my card stock around one turn and scored at the same measurements to create a scored gridline…click on the photo below for a closer look…

I then stamped the flowers in a repeating pattern in each scored square to give a nice neat look – Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and then Baja Breeze – and then repeated until my grid was full.  I have this set in the Clear Mount version which makes positioning it quick and easy…

I then matted this piece onto color card stock layers and added my sentiment which I punched out using my 2″ x 1 3/8″ Oval Punch – formerly known as the Wide Oval Punch – I punched two more ovals from Suede card stock and used them underneath my sentiment so that it has definition from the base…

Finally I added some cute Pearls to my card as a finishing touch and there is one cute clean and simple card that you can use for any occasion simply by changing the sentiment.

This is fabulous! I haven’t done a grid card in a long time. I love these colors, and although I wasn’t too impressed with that set, now I’m rethinking. Thanks a lot Sarah! lol j/k
