Thanksgiving Punch Turkey…

Well I decided to get those punches out again and make a Thanksgiving Turkey – I was inspired from a Pottery Barn Holiday Catalog that came in the mail on Friday which featured a turkey that looked like it had been paper pieced…

The papers are from the beautiful Autumn Vine paper pack – these papers are full of Fall colors and are just gorgeous. You can find this pack of papers in the Holiday Mini which you can find online in the link to the right of this page…enjoy :-)

The card base is Really Rust and the mat is Chocolate Chip. All papers are from the Autumn Vine pack, except for the turkey’s wings which I made from a paper found in the Pumpkin Pie Prints paper pack. I used my Coluzzle to cut the circle for the body of the turkey and I used my 1 3/8″ Circle Punch for his head. I then used my Small and Large Oval Punches to create his wings and tail feathers. His feet and wattle are made from the Horizontal Slot Punch.

To assemble him, I cut a piece of blue paper and adhered the tail feathers to it. I then attached his body using dimensionals to give him a lift from the background. His head and wings are also attached using dimensionals to give a great 3-d effect. I cut a piece of Chocolate Chip to use as a mat and attached the turkey on his base to it. I then used my Round Tab Punch to make a tag out of More Mustard and cut a slot using my Word Window Punch at the base of the card. I used rub-ons for the sentiment from the Chit Chat package – I split the ‘so thankful’ sentiment in two and put ‘so’ on the punched tab and ‘thankful’ on the Really Rust base so that it shows through the window slot.

I finished off my card with some Chocolate Chip 1″ Double Stitched Grosgrain and some Mustard Grosgrain – I love how it turned out and think I might frame it to use it for Thanksgiving decorations :-)
