My Apothecary Tea Cup of Thanks…

FINALLY I am getting down to playing with my new goodies from the Occasions Mini Catalog and wow am I loving them!

Today I wanted to show you a card that I have mailed out – in kit form – to all of my customers along with samples & their Occasions Mini Catalogs…they will be able to make this cute card for themselves & I am hoping they love it as much as I do…

My card uses two brand new stamp sets featured in the Occasions Mini along with the FABULOUS new Framelits Dies – they are much like Nesties and I am so thankful for this wonderful new addition to our line!

My card base is Pool Party onto which I layered a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock – I love this double layer look for a backdrop.

I textured a piece of Soft Suede cardstock using my Big Shot & Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and wrapped around a piece of the brand new Pool Party Seam Binding (find it on pg 23 of the Occasions Mini).

I then added this layer to my card base and proceeded to add all the fun details…

Firstly I adhered a strip of beautiful paper from Attic Boutique DSP (pg 23) to that textured base and then was the really fun bit…

I took a beautiful framed stamp from the set Apothecary Art (pgs 24 & 25) and stamped it using Early Espresso Ink onto Pool Party cardstock – and cut it out using my Big Shot and a Framelit from the Labels Collection (pg 6) – and WOW was that easy and fun to do!

It is so easy to get perfect placement using the framelits as you can see exactly what you are doing as you work – look how perfect it turned out…

LOVE it – Framelits are my new favorite toys!!!  I then stamped that cute teacup & flowers using stamps from the new set Tea Shoppe (pg 19) and cut them out using my Paper Snips & a Craft Knife.

For a finishing touch I added a sentiment, also found in the set Tea Shoppe and punched it out using my Modern Label Punch – I decided to add a cute Pearl at each end for a finishing touch, and added it to my card just below the ribbon…

And there is one fun and cute card that you can make for any occasion simply by changing the sentiment.

And here are the images in the two beautiful brand new sets that I used to make my card…both are available in your choice of wood or clear mount versions – click on the pictures below to view them in the online store…

Here is Apothecary Art – those framed stamps co-ordinate PERFECTLY with the Labels Collection of Framelits so that you can quickly & easily die cut them out for a very professional look…

Here is Tea Shoppe - check out those gorgeous tea cups & sentiments…

And here you can see the shapes that those Label Framelit Dies make…they make it easy to make frames and nesting features and are found on pg 6 – you get 6 in a pack, the largest of which measures 5  7/16″ wide and here are those beautiful shapes…

If you DO NOT currently have a Demonstrator and would like a copy of the Occasions Mini Catalog including a FREE card kit and some samples, please email me by clicking HERE and I will get a package out in the mail to you.

Recycling Soda Cans & Making Metal Snowflakes with the Big Shot!

Did you know that you can make SUPER CUTE Metal Snowflakes from soda cans with your Big Shot?

This makes my heart happy – playing in my craft room to create holiday decorations whilst recycling soda cans!

They make beautiful hanging ornaments on a tree…pop them onto a window…to dress up your gifts…and they also make lovely additions to banners and wreaths…

Here is one of those snowflakes that I made sitting under my jazzy craft room Christmas tree…

You can showcase the side that has that beautiful shiny silver metal inside the cans…

Here are two of mine below…

Or you can turn them over and display them with the soda can images on the front…depending on the type of soda can you use, you can get many different colors & designs…the can I used below was a sparkling Cranberry Juice can…

So how do you make them? All you need is your Big Shot, the Snowflakes #2 Originals Die, Craft & Rubber Scissors or tin snips and a soda can of your choice.

Gingerbread House Ornament & Card…

After a good few days without a fully usable computer I’m back!!!  My graphics card went wrong and needed replacing – hubby just finished doing that and I am back on track with a working machine – yay!

And I was sooo excited to be able to show you my cute Gingerbread projects at last!  I created a Gingerbread House Ornament and a co-ordinating Card…

And the best bit is this…customers who place an order for $50+ through me from December 1st through December 20th will receive Kits in the mail to make BOTH of these items for FREE!

In the Kit will be ALL the consumable supplies needed to make both of the items shown below along with the Tutorials showing you how to put them together…

Want your Gingerbread House Ornament & Card Kit?  Simply place an order with me in my Online Store by clicking HERE or by emailing it to me and your Kit will be on it’s way to you the next day!

Here they are…

That Gingerbread House Ornament is adorable…you can peel that snowy roof off to access the box beneath – and inside that box you can put little gifts or candies to make a super cute yummy treat…it even has a hanging loop…

The roof and trim is textured using the Snow Burst Embossing Folder and I added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the edges of my roof to give a nice snowy look – to make this SUPER easy I used Dazzling Details Glitter Glue that you can find on pg 41 of the Holiday Mini Catalog…

And check out that door & the wreath that I made…aren’t they cute?  The Kit will contain EVERYTHING you need to make this house – including all the pieces to make the door and that wreath…you just have fun putting it together!

I didn’t want to leave the back of the house empty and so my girls suggested a Christmas Tree…I used stamps from Pennant Parade (pg 69) to make my tree and colored in the little baubles with markers and I think it turned out just perfect…

And now onto my Gingerbread House Card…

I wanted it to co-ordinate with my Ornament so that both items can be given as a little gift package…

I used the same colors and kept the snowy theme to tie it in with my Ornament and made the Gingerbread House to match as well…

I also added some gorgeous Seam Binding for a luxurious look and some Silver Glimmer Paper to the edges for even more sparkle.

My sentiment is from the set Many Merry Messages (pg 166) and as a final finishing touch I added a little Rhinestone…you can’t have too much sparkle & glitz on a Christmas card, can you?

I think they turned out cute?  But I’d love to hear what you think of them…

EVERYONE Who places an order for $50+ through me from NOW through December 20th will receive Kits in the mail to make BOTH of these items for FREE!

How do you place your order with me?

  • Visit my Online Store by clicking HERE
  • or email it to me by clicking here

Your Kit will be mailed out straight after you place your order to ensure you have plenty of time to assemble it before Christmas…and that is why I have a cut-off date of December 20th…

What will be in the Kit that you receive?

ALL consumable supplies need to make both the Ornament & the Card including:

  • All pre-cut & scored Cardstocks
  • All textured cardstocks
  • All punched out Images & punched Edging
  • Medium Envelope
  • Tutorials
  • All Embellishments – Seam Binding, Rhinestone, Brads, Jingle Bell & ribbon
  • Silver Cord

Wood Sheets just perfect for Thanksgiving…

My card today incorporates a fun material that is so easy to use…wood!

Stampin’ Up! sells beautiful Wood Sheets that gives your projects an authentic wood look – you can find them on pg 216 of the Catalog & the sheets are made of thin Birch wood that you can die cut, emboss & stamp on – they are easy and fun to use…

I decided to use some today because I wanted to incorporate a wood look into my Thanksgiving card filled with leaves…

I love the look of this card – my card base is made using Cajun Craze cardstock and onto it I layered a piece of Early Espresso that I textured using my Big Shot & Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder

I then took a bit of Wood Sheet & ran it through my Big Shot using the fabulous Top Note Die to get this gorgeous shape…it cuts through that wood like a knife through butter!

I then wrapped around a piece of Natural Hemp Twine (pg 194) three times and tied a knot at the side – and added my die cut Top Note wood shape to my card using Dimensionals.

Aren’t those leaves just gorgeous?

SO easy and fun to make – I stamped them onto Very Vanilla cardstock using stamps from the set Gently Falling that you can find on pg 16-17 of the Holiday Mini Catalog…

The inks that I used are Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip & Early Espresso – and then I cut them out using my sharp Paper Snips…click on the photo below for a larger view…

Not got Paper Snips? You need them!  They are perfect little scissors with razor sharp tips that make cutting intricate shapes easy – you get a very professional finish when you use them and you can find them on pg 208 of the Catalog or by clicking HERE

I added my leaves using Dimensionals to my wood shape – I used a double layer of Dimensionals for the maple leaf to lift it above the lower leaf.

That sentiment? From my other favorite set for this time of year – Day of Gratitude that you can find on pg 28 of the Catalog – I simply stamped it & punched it out using my Extra Large Oval Punch and added it to my card.

Those Wood Sheets? You can find them on pg 216 of the Catalog or by clicking HERE to view them in the online store – they measure 13 3/4″ x 5 3/4″ and you get a pack of 4 of them for $9.95

That stamp set Gently Falling features beautiful leaves - you can stamp them as I did or you can do some two-step stamping and stamp the co-ordinating leaf vein stamps on top of them.

Here are the images included in that set - it comes in both clear & wood mount versions and you can find it on pg 16-17 of the Holiday Mini Catalog or in the online store by clicking HERE

Make a Cute Reindeer using the fabulous Owl Punch…

If you don’t yet have that Owl Punch then you really do need it – it is one of the most versatile punches out there!!!

Of course you can make Owls using it…but did you know that you can also use it to many more things amongst which are tulips, penguins, fish and now reindeer?

Yes, you can make the most adorable Reindeer using that punch and he is just perfect to use on your Holiday projects – I’ve seen a few variations around but this is mine…

Isn’t he CUTE?!  And SO fast and easy to make!

The Owl Punch is the BEST punch investment ever and you can find it on pg 213 of the Catalog or in the online store by clicking HERE

So what do you need to make him? Just your Owl Punch, the Snowflake Punch or Sizzlits Snowflake Die & cardstocks…

  • Simply punch out the body shape from the brown cardstock color of your choice – I used Soft Suede – and then trim off the owl feet…
  • Punch out the antlers using the Snowflake Punch or Die and trim two pieces to size…
  • Punch out the eyes using the smaller circle shapes on the Owl Punch…
  • Punch out the nose using the large circle shape on the Owl Punch – I used Red Glimmer Paper that you can find on pg 41 of the Holiday Mini Catalog

And this is what you will have:

And then simply assemble – Mini Glue Dots make this super easy.

I decided to mount my Reindeer onto a base which I made using the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch & Silver Glimmer Paper and a Real Red 1 3/4″ Circle Punch & my Polka Dots Embossing Folder…

What can you use this cute Reindeer for? You can make him a feature on Holiday cards and add a cute sentiment AND he is fabulous to use to as to make very affordable treat toppers for kids…

Here I used him to top a Glittery Pencil…I found these pencils in the dollar spot in Target and slipped them into the Cellophane Tube Bags that you can find on pg 11 of the Holiday Mini Catalog

Here I used him to top a Lollipop…cute for the pre-school set…

And here I used him to adorn a Candy Cane…a great treat for the girls to handout to their friends…

I know that I am going to be making a bunch of these – they are super fun and kids & grown-ups alike will LOVE them!

Earlier I mentioned that you can also make Penguins using the Owl Punch- another great embellishment perfect for the HolidaysAND I HAVE A FREE TUTORIAL showing you how to make them – find it by clicking HERE - here they are – cute!!!

Simple Green Tree…

There is one Stamp Set in the Holiday Mini Catalog that features the most beautiful fir tree…

And that set is Christmas Lodge that you can find on pg 29 – it is just a GORGEOUS stamp set – and that tree is a big stamp measuring around 4″ x 3″ making it perfect for being a focal point…

Because you can use this large stamp as your main focal point, it makes it super easy to make a bunch of cards quickly, especially when you stick with just 2 main colors…here is my card…

My card uses the colors Very Vanilla and Always Artichoke and the sentiment is stamped using Early Espresso to give an impact over that tree…

My card base is Very Vanilla onto which is layered a piece of Always Artichoke that I textured using my Big Shot & Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder

I then tied around a piece of beautiful Always Artichoke Seam Binding and tied in a bow on the side – working with Seam Binding is so easy – it ties into a bow very easily because it is so soft to work with – love it!

I then stamped my tree, trimmed it to size and added it to my card base using Dimensionals.  I decided to keep my tree clean & simple but you can easily add some bling if you want to – here are some ideas:

Finally I stamped my sentiment using that beautiful Merry Christmas sentiment which is also included in Christmas Lodge – I then trimmed it using my Paper Trimmer and cut a V in one end with my Paper Snips…and finally added it to my card using Dimensionals so that it is laying above the tree.

I really couldn’t decide whether to add a sentiment to this card or leave it without one, as I love a clean & simple look – but in the end I decided to and love how it turned out…here is a photo of it before I added that sentiment…

Which do you prefer?

Here are the images you get in this beautiful set Christmas Lodge - it is a set of 6 and is available in both Wood & Clear Mount versions…click on the picture below to view it in the online store…

For their October Club Gift, each member is receiving a card kit with all the supplies needed to make 10 Cards complete with Envelopes – 5 of the Snowman card featured yesterday and 5 of these beautiful autumnal cards…

The stamps I used to create this card are from the absolutely GORGEOUS set Day of Gratitude – this has to be one of my favorites and features a beautiful medallion, 2 sentiments, leaves, flowers and an acorn…

My card base is made using Soft Suede cardstock and I textured the front panel using my Big Shot & Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (pg 219) – simple but so very effective.

I then added a strip of More Mustard cardstock and topped it with a strip of Early Espresso cardstock…

Then I punched out 3 pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock using my 1 3/8″ Square Punch and stamped a different colored leaf onto each – the colors I used are classic fall colors – Cajun Craze, More Mustard and Soft Suede - click on the photo below for a closer look…

I then attached these squares to my card using Dimensionals to make them pop out.

My finishing touch is that beautiful sentiment – stamped using a stamp from Day of Gratitude in Early Espresso ink onto Vanilla cardstock – I then punched it out using my Extra Large Oval Punch and attached it to my card base using Dimensionals.

And lastly that cute little acorn – I stamped it in Soft Suede ink and cut it out using my sharp Paper Snips – then added it with a Dimensional and there is one beautiful card just perfect for Thanksgiving.

Again, I decided to dress up the envelope and stamped a beautiful leaf in the bottom left corner – so easy but a great touch.

So here are the two cards that my Monthly Club Members will be able to make this week when they receive them in the mail…they get to make 5 of each with the supplies in their kits…I think they turned out great…I hope they like em…

Here are the images you get in the beautiful set Day of Gratitude - it is a set of 7 and is also in both Wood & Clear Mount versions…click on the picture below to view it in the online store…
