Today I wanted to show you a bold & bright summer themed card that I made for a Team Facebook Hop – the theme was ‘Here comes the sun’ and as soon as I saw that, I knew I had to use the very cool flamingo featured in the set Pop of Paradise – simply because it reminds me of our family vacations to Florida & fun beach times!
This set also features tropical leaves, a fab pineapple and some really useful sentiments – it is a set where you can really get creative…
Here is my card…yes, those bright colors are outside of my comfort zone LOL but I really love how they work together…

The colors I used on this card are Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black and of course Whisper White – I love how the white background makes all of those colors pop right out!
The ‘Hello’ disc is made by Heat Embossing with Versamark, Gold Stampin Emboss Powder and the fab Heat Tool, and then I punched it out to create a shimmery disc…

And that fringe…for a tropical theme I added this as it reminds me of a grass skirt or roof…oh how I love using the Fringe Scissors to make this look – you can also cross hatch with them to make confetti – the possibilities are limitless!
The leaves are really eyecatching too…I stamped them and then cut them out using my Paper Snips (another must have!) as they have super sharp tips making it easy to get into the corners…
And for my finishing touch…I had to add some flowers…it’s just not summer without them! I punched them out with the Tree Builder Punch and added a cute sparkly Rhinestone Jewel to each – LOVE the impact of those little embellies!
Now I love the sun but I am now wishing for cool weather…this week in Central Texas it is going to be around the 101 mark…roll on fall and camping..stay cool and enjoy the last days of summer!
