EVERY DAY on the run up to Christmas I am going to be posting something different, to show you ideas to help you to find inspiration for your own Holiday projects & cards…

AND because I love versatility, I am going to show you how versatile some of those products can be and how you can also use them throughout the year as well.

Today I am showcasing the fabulous Season of Style Designer Series Paper, Cherry Cobbler 1″ Grosgrain Stitched Edge Ribbon (because it is on sale through Monday!) and the adorable Best of Snow stamp set – I have made two cards – one for the Holidays and the second for use throughout the year…

Here is my Holiday Card…isn’t that stamped image cute?

sparklyhedgehogcard

I am so happy to see some hedgehogs back – LOVE them – must be the English gal in me – I remember them snuffling around the garden at night and was always fascinated by them!

The card base…is Cherry Cobbler onto which I layered a piece of 4″ x 3″ patterned paper from Season of Style DSP (pg 23 Holiday Catalog).  The top part is a piece of Whisper White that I textured using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (pg 191)

The ribbon…I then wrapped around a piece of 1″ Cherry Cobbler Stitched Edge Ribbon and adhered the beginning and end pieces underneath that stamped image for a seamless look.

WEEKLY DEAL ALERT – that 1″ Cherry Cobbler Stitched Edge Ribbon is ON SALE THROUGH MONDAY 11th NOV for $6.71 (reg $8.95) – click HERE to find it!

The Hedgehog stamped image…isn’t that CUTE?!  That stamp is from the Best of Snow set that you can find by clicking HERE – it features 4 stamps including this adorable one!  I stamped it and colored it in using Markers in the colors Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Crumb Cake – click on the photo below for a larger view…

I then used my Glue Pen to run a line of glue along the bottom of those cute characters and sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter for some sparkle – and then I cut out my image using a die from Chalk Talk Framelits (pg 187) and added it to my card using dimensionals.

The sentiment…those words are from a stamp in the set Snow Day (pg 25 Holiday Catalog) – I colored each word and stamped it onto cardstock & punched it out using the Word Window Punch (pg 180)…

Finishing touch…I used a button from Neutrals Designer Buttons (pg 168) and tied a bow using Linen Thread and added it to the edge of the die cut piece…

I just love how this Holiday card turned out – and I am so happy to have Hedgehogs back in my stampin’ stash!!!

So I wanted to show you how you can use patterned papers from Season of Style throughout the year – this is a really versatile pack of papers because it features papers with polka dots and geometric shapes making it usable year round and I have already stocked up with more of it before it goes away at the end of the Holiday Catalog period!

This is the other card I made using that paper…

The card base…is Crumb Cake onto which I layered a piece of Whisper White and then a layer of that dotted paper…I then added a 2″ wide strip of white textured cardstock (again textured with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder) and stamped a little tag.

The sentiment…isn’t that sweet?  It’s a sneak peak from a set that is coming out in the Occasions Mini Catalog in January and is from a set called ‘Happy Watercolor’ – LOVE it!!!

The finishing touch…is another button, this time from Naturals Designer Buttons (pg 168) and again with Linen Thread tied through…

I am absolutely in love with the hedgehogs. Which of my 13 grandkids wouldn’t like it – not a one! Thanks for all your inspiration and generosity in sharing your talent so abundantly.

I think this is the first card I have seen with the little hedgehogs. So cute! Great touch with the dazzling diamonds! My stamp set should be here on Monday. Can’t wait to play with it. A friend of mine will have a laugh when she gets her card!

Not sure what is THE most favorite thing about Thanksgiving but I do enjoy a quiet time to reflect on stuff and give thanks for all I have. The turkey and pie are a bonus! This govt shutdown this year was hard on a lot of people and it gave us a scare since my husband is a federal employee.

Love these cards, Sarah!! I love Thanksgiving because, not only do I get to eat multiple giant meals on that day, but I also get to be with family (and share things we are grateful for)! That is just awesome, feel-good bonding time…
