Get Your Santa On in the Chimney…

Oh my goodness I just cannot get enough of the Holiday Catalog…and the fabulous bargains to be had with all of those photopolymer stamps sets in it!!!

Another of my favorites is a super cute set called ‘Get Your Santa On‘ which is featured on pg 30 and as soon as I saw it, I had a light-bulb moment and knew exactly what I was going to make first…

An interactive card featuring santa popping out of the chimney!  And here it is…in this view Santa is inside the chimney with his feet sticking out of the fireplace…

But when you pull on the ribbon, out he pops!!!  Isn’t that cute?  And that tag would make a great little bookmark especially for kids…

Oh I love this card – it makes me smile every time I look at it!  It is not difficult to make but it is a whole lot of fun to stamp & put together!

The card base…is Basic Black onto which I layered a piece of Cherry Cobbler – I punched that star border down each side using the new Confetti Stars Punch (pg 30 Holiday Catalog) – and that gives one instant & easy way to create background!

The chimney panel…is a piece of Whisper White cardstock that is trimmed to measure 3 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ – I stamped my image onto it using Memento Black Ink (pg 212) and colored it using Blendabilities Markers from the Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Crumb Cake Assortments (pg 212) – find all of the assortments by clicking HERE

I then used my super sharp Paper Snips (pg 215) to cut that fireplace section out and adhered a piece of Basic Gray cardstock to my card base.

I then attached the chimney panel over  it using Dimensionals to create a pocket that my tag can slide in and out of – be sure to place your Dimensionals as close as you can to the edge to give your tag room to move around inside the pocket that you create…click on the photo below for a closer look…

SARAH’S TIP – on a sheet of Dimensionals you get a border strip that goes all of the way around – these thin border strips are perfect for this kind of project so don’t throw them away!

The pull-out tag…is a strip of white cardstock that measures 2″ x 3 3/4″ – I used my Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (pg 221) to shape the top and stamped my Santa onto the tag and then colored him using Blendabilities.

I then added a piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding (pg 207 )and tied around a piece of White Bakers Twine (pg 206) to secure it in place…

And then pop him into the chimney to check that his feet are showing in the fireplace – if they do not, simply trim a strip off of the bottom of the tag until you get the look that you want…

And there it is – one very cute interactive Holiday card that is so much fun to make…
