Today’s card features a pretty background that is fun to make using the Tree Rings background stamp and the fabulous Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder…
Can you tell I am loving all things copper right now?! And since I’m dreaming of fall (probably because we just don’t get that season here in Central Texas!) I decided to use it to create a card full of die cut leaves fit for Thanksgiving and here it is…
I have a Project Sheet for you detailing all measurements, the colors I used & full instructions on how to make this card below – just look for the red words to find it.
I used just three main colors on my card – Early Espresso, Basic Black and Copper – and a pop of Very Vanilla for the sentiment tag. Here is a close up of that tag and the leaves around it…
The stamp that I used for the sentiment is from the stamp set that was included in this month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit called Layered Leaves. And all of the leaves that you see on here were die cut using dies from Seasonal Layers Thinlits – if you don’t have this set of dies yet, give it another look – there are dies for the whole year in there!
See that copper net style embellishment behind that intricate die cut leaf – it’s actually a piece of the 1/4″ Copper Trim! If you gently pull that outwards it gives you this very different rustic-net-like look – how cool is that? It’s literally a two for one ribbon!
Here is a closer look at those tree rings…I inked up my Tree Rings background stamp with Versamark Ink and stamped it down onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock – sprinkled on some Copper embossing powder and set it with the Heat Tool and look how beautiful it turned out – raised and shiny and such a pretty background…
The black ribbon has some shine to it too – it is the Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon and it has sparkly bits of glitter running through it which add a bit of an elegant detail. On this card you can see I also added a couple of loops to the side of the leaves – in real life, the glittery bits in that ribbon are so pretty!
