I love Designer Series Papers and continuing the theme of showing you lots of fun and different things you can make with them, I made an adorable Backpack which would be just perfect for end of year teacher appreciation gifts, bridal party or shower gifts, baby shower favors and even for Fathers Day – you could fill it with candies, a gift card, miniature toiletries, have a theme such as a nail pampering kit with nail polish and accessories…with imagination and using the right papers it would be perfect for any occasion…
And it gets even better – right now in the Scrapbooking Promotion you can buy 3 packs of this fabulous paper and get 1 pack for FREE – how cool is that? And there’s even more – right now for all orders placed through me of $100+ I will give you a pack of DSP of your choice for FREE – you can find details of these fab promotions by clicking HERE
And don’t forget about my Corduroy Buttons & Brads Share and May’s Card Kit – this is the last day to get your orders in for both of these – PLUS with every Card Kit purchase I will mail you the template and pre-cut papers to make one of these adorable Backpacks for free -what a great deal – you can find out more about my Share and Card Kit by clicking HERE – but hurry – today is that last day I can take orders for them…
Stampin’ Up!’s Specialty Designer Series Papers are just perfect for this project – they are more rigid than the regular DSPs and you can find them on pg 158 of the Spring Summer Catalog – the papers I used are from the Sweet Slumber Specialty Pack – you could use To the Nines or Rockabilly to make Fathers Day Backpacks…and Parisian Breeze would be just perfect for bridal themed Backpacks…
You can find the template and instructions for making this adorable Backpack by clicking
HERE – there is also a link to the right – and you can find other photos of it below.
The base of my Backpack uses paper from Sweet Slumber DSP and also Chocolate Chip cardstock – the straps are 1/4″ Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, the buttons are from Button Bouquet and I used Metallic Eyelets. You need to use very strong adhesive for this project such as Sticky Strip which holds very well and you can also use magnetic closures that you can find in craft stores to secure the flaps so that they can easily be opened and closed.
Isn’t it adorable? It was sooo fun to make and much easier and straightforward than I thought it would be – I am going to make them for end of year teacher gifts and I think I will make my little girls one each too as a Kindergarten Graduation gift :-)
