Stampin’ Up!’s Specialty Designer Series Papers are just perfect for this project – they are more rigid than the regular DSPs and you can find them on pg 158 of the Spring Summer Catalog – the papers I used are from the Sweet Slumber Specialty Pack – you could use To the Nines or Rockabilly to make Fathers Day Backpacks…and Parisian Breeze would be just perfect for bridal themed Backpacks…

The base of my Backpack uses paper from Sweet Slumber DSP and also Chocolate Chip cardstock – the straps are 1/4″ Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, the buttons are from Button Bouquet and I used Metallic Eyelets. You need to use very strong adhesive for this project such as Sticky Strip which holds very well and you can also use magnetic closures that you can find in craft stores to secure the flaps so that they can easily be opened and closed.
Isn’t it adorable? It was sooo fun to make and much easier and straightforward than I thought it would be – I am going to make them for end of year teacher gifts and I think I will make my little girls one each too as a Kindergarten Graduation gift :-)
