I was in my bedroom this week in the late afternoon when the light was beginning to fade and glanced at one of the windows to be greeted by a very cool sight…
We have opaque cellular blinds and through this I could see shadows of the oak tree behind – because of the fading light it gave a very spooky look which inspired me to make a halloween card using vellum…
My card uses the colors Basic Gray, Basic Black, Elegant Eggplant and More Mustard and I textured my purple piece using that fab Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (pg 214).
My bats are sooo easy to make – simply punched out of black cardstock using the Bitty Bat Punch (pg 200) and attached to the card using Dimensionals which helps to make them look like they are flying…
My stamps? ALL from the stamp set Wicked Cool (pg 23) – I stamped my cobweb & candelabra images using Black Ink onto a piece of Vellum Cardstock (pg 170) which is more heavyweight than vellum paper and thus gives a more opaque look – I turned this piece over and framed it using 1/4″ wide strips of black cardstock and attached it to my card base using Dimensionals.
To finish up I added some of that gorgeous Raven Lace Trim featured in the Holiday Mini Catalog and a little tag & a moon that I made using Circle Punches…spooky, eh?
Here is my photo of my bedroom window that I used for inspiration for making this card…
