This is a card I made that was featured on Stampers Showcase – it is part of the Stampin Up website that is accessible by Demonstrators only and they showcase 6 cards daily…I was delighted to see my little fishy card on there – I love those fish :-)
It uses the set Just Beachy which is currently available in the Occasions Mini until June 30th – you can order this stamp set for another week only – after then, it is no longer available… I wanted my card to look like you were peeking through a port hole on a ship…
For the base of the card I used Pacific Point Textured cardstock onto it, using Dimensionals, layered a piece of DSP from Urban Garden onto which I attached a piece of Pacific Point Striped Grosgrain.
I used my Circle Scissors Plus and the Glass Mat to cut a circle out of Pacific Point Textured cardstock and created my undersea picture onto it – I used So Saffron cardstock and made a stippled sandy effect (hard to see in the photo) using the Spritzer Tool and a So Saffron Marker. I cut a rock out of Bronze Metallic cardstock (from the Taste of Textiles pack on pg 156) cut seaweed shapes out of Kiwi Kiss cardstock and covered them with green Stampin’ Glitter. I stamped my fish using Stazon Black onto Whisper White and colored them with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and my Blender Pen. I used blogs of Crystal Effects on their eyes to make them bulge (again, hard to see from the photo) and I adhered this layer onto the card base.
Using my Circle Scissors Plus I cut a piece of Shimmery White and attached Jumbo Eyelets (pg 174) using my Crop-o-dile. I cut a piece of Window Sheet (acetate sheet that you can find on pg 10 of the Occasions Mini catalog) and glued it to the back of the circle – I then adhered this circular port hole window to the base using Dimensionals.
Finally I stamped the sentiment from the set Stem Sayings, cut it out in a wavy style to continue the sea theme and attached it using a green Library Clip (pg 176) – I tied a piece of Linen Thread around it for a little finishing touch :-)
