Sparkle and Ornaments!
This card really gets me in the holiday spirit and I received it in the mail yesterday – when I opened up the envelope and saw it, my reaction was WOW!!!
I think it is stunning and I just had to show it off today – it was made by a very talented friend of ours named Lara Pauwels – isn’t it beautiful?
Lara used Textured Whisper White cardstock for her base and used strips of Designer Series Papers from the pack Jolly Holiday – I love how she made the center strip larger as it makes a really neat feature…
And don’t you just love that ornament? Wow does that sparkle in real life – to get that effect she used a stamp from the set Delightful Decorations and stamped it using Versamark Ink and then sprinkled on Heat & Stick Powder – she then used her Heat Tool to melt it and then sprinkled on beautiful Gold Glitter – in real life it is amazingly sparkly!
She then punched out her ornament using the co-ordinating Ornament Punch – this punch is incredibly versatile as you can use it to make other punch art including cute fish – so definitely not just for the holiday season…
Lara then attached her ornament to the base using Dimensionals and stamped her sentiment and pine boughs and I love the finishing touch of the black thread bow between the ornament and the pine bough…
What a beautiful card and another example of how the use of patterned papers can give your cards a different look – add the bling of glitter and you get the wow factor!
