I am loving my All in the Family set and that gorgeous tree from the Season of Friendship set that is currently featured in the Holiday Mini…

I decided to make a Christmas ‘Spinner’ card using stamps from both sets and it came out cute – if you don’t know what a Spinner card is, details of the technique are below :-)

The tree and snowflake stamps are both from the Season of Friendship set – I stamped the tree using Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White cardstock. I then stamped the snowflakes using Baha Breeze ink. The dog and little girl stamps are from the All in the Family set* and I stamped them using my Stamp-a-majig and Brown Stazon Ink so that I could use my Watercolor Wonder Crayons and a Blender Pen to color them in (the Stamp-a-majig is a must-have tool for using this set – you can find it on pg 192 of the Fall Winter Catalog).

I then took a piece of Baha Breeze Cardstock and stamped 4 snowflakes onto it using Versamark Ink – I then sprinkled on White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and used my Heat Tool to set it. I used my 3/4″ Circle Punch to punch out the snowflakes and used Dimensionals to put 3 of them in place on the card.

I then used my Word Window Punch to make the ‘track’ for the spinning snowflake – I matted the snowflake that I used for this onto a 1″ Circle of Riding Hood Red Cardstock – you can see how to make Spinner Cards by following this wonderful tutorial here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/spinner_card/

I cut a Close to Cocoa cardstock mat for my lower layer and using the track that I cut with my word window punch as a guide, stamped my sentiment onto it using Chocolate Chip Ink (the sentiment stamp is from the stamp set Baby Jesus is Born). I attached the Whisper White top layer onto the Close to Cocoa layer using Dimensionals and put my spinning snowflake in place on the track. I then matted this onto my card base which is a piece of Baha Breeze Cardstock and voila – a very cute Holiday card with a fun spinning feature :-)

*All in the Family was part of the Holiday Extravaganza Bundle promotion – although the All in the Family Bundle has sold out, you can still purchase the stamp set individually (you can find it on pg 78 of the Fall Winter Catalog) – it is such a cute and versatile set :-)

Holiday Extravaganza is still going strong through December 1st – you can find lots more information about this promotion at www.sarahsinkspot.com
