I decided to make a card today using the wonderful printed window sheets from Clearly Thanks that you can find in the Occasions Mini catalog and also to incorporate the beautiful Corduroy Buttons & Brads which add a very elegant finishing touch to any project – this is what I came up with…aren’t those dandelions gorgeous?
Firstly I trimmed and then positioned my window sheet with the Dandelions over a piece of DSP from the Good Morning Sunshine pack to see where I needed to place the sentiment – it is a rub-on from the Chit Chat Rub-ons pack – once it was where I wanted it, I rubbed it onto the piece of DSP.
To secure the window sheet onto the paper without using adhesive that would show through the clear sheet, I made a hole in the window sheet and the DSP in the center of the small dandelion using my paper piercing tool and pushed the small brad through. I then placed a glue dot in the center of the large dandelion and attached the button to it, through which I had threaded linen thread and tied a knot as a finishing touch. On the reverse side of this dandelion I put another glue dot and pushed it onto the paper to secure the window sheet securely in place.
I then attached a piece of Kraft Taffeta and tied a knot to finish it off. I matted these layers onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock and then onto a base of Kraft cardstock – and voila – there you have a very elegant card with the beautiful textured accents of the Corduroy Buttons & Brads…
