Well I thought I would show you more fun ways to use the fabulous Designer Series Papers – this card was inspired by my little girl who LOVES the guitar – her Kindergarten teacher plays the guitar and she is just desperate for lessons…I came across a template for a guitar one day and just had to make a card using it…
You can find the template for the guitar on the right – and you can find a list of materials I used at the end of this post. And don’t forget that all Designer Series Papers are on sale right now – buy 3 and get 1 free – this sale ends on May 31st – you can find out more details about this fab promotion by clicking HERE
I traced and cut out the body of the guitar from Bronze Metallic cardstock which you can find in the Taste of Textiles pack – I then cut out a larger body and the other guitar parts from Textured Basic Black cardstock. I used black Brads on the bridge and end of the guitar and adhered these pieces using dimensionals to give them a lift from the guitar body. I used a black Jumbo Grommet to create the soundhole – doesn’t it look fab?
I then took a piece of black paper from Rockabilly Specialty and cut out circles of Designer Series Papers using my Circle Scissors Plus – I adhered the two larger circles to the base and the yellow one I adhered using Dimensionals. Using my Big Shot and the Billboard Alphabet Die I cut the letters Rock out of Bronze Metallic cardstock and attach them to the yellow circle. I took a Basic Small Grommit and used it to highlight a small piece of DSP.
I then matted the black paper onto a layer of Bronze Metallic and onto the card base of Textured Kiwi Kiss.
Finally I took a chipboard U from On Board Loads of Letters and colored it using Riding Hood Red Ink. I used Tombow Multi Glue to adhere the red glitter onto it and attached it and the guitar to the card – and there you have a card suitable for a boy or a girl for any occasion – it is one of my most favorite cards I have ever made :-)
