I have a few birthdays coming up and so I thought I would dig out a new set that I haven’t yet inked up so that I could make a couple of birthday cards…this set features a cute banner with scallop edges and is new to the catalog this year.

It is called Party this Way and is featured on pg 53 of the Catalog – it is priced at $15.95 for the wood mount version or $11.95 for clear mount and has stamps that can be used for many occasions and that banner would make a very cute scrapbook page header.  You can stamp letters onto the little flags to spell out a name or phrase or do as I did and stamp onto Designer Series Paper to mount onto the banner for a whimsical look…

My card has a clean and simple look and uses the colors Early Espresso, Very Vanilla and Pink Pirouette…I used my Stamp-a-majig to perfectly position and stamp my banner onto vanilla cardstock – if you have not used a Stamp-a-majig and would like to find out how it works, I have a printable tutorial that you can find by clicking HERE…it is on pg 198 and costs $11.95 and has become one of the tools I use almost everytime I stamp.

I stamped my banner stamp again onto plain pink and vanilla cardstocks and cut out the triangle shapes and adhered them to that banner base…I then stamped the same stamp onto pieces of Designer Series Papers from the packs Sunny Garden and Lap of Luxury (pg 174), cut out the triangle shapes and adhered them onto my banner…

I made holes using my Paper Piercing tool in the top of each flap and threaded through a piece of Linen Thread (pg 190), tying knots into it as I went along at each hole…I finished off with a little button at each end from Bitty Buttons (pg 186).

My ribbons are 5/8″ Early Espresso Grosgrain and 1/4″ Very Vanilla and I added a little scalloped border below them using my Scallop Edge Punch (pg 200)…cute, eh?
