Tree with Baubles…

Today I was out in the garden putting baubles on some of the trees which led me on to thinking about making a card using this idea…

And I knew I had the perfect stamp to make this work – that bare branched tree from Season of Friendship.  Again, this is another ‘all occasion’ set that lends itself well to holiday card making…

I LOVE how it turned out – I stamped my tree using Crumb Cake ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock – you can find that tree stamp on pg 120 of the Catalog – and layered it onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock that I textured using my Big Shot & the Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder and then attached this to my base cardstock which is Crumb Cake…

I made my bauble ornaments using 1/4″ and 1/2″ Circle Punches and punched out patterns from papers from Deck the Halls Designer Series Papers – I ‘hung them’ to my tree using Linen Thread – I made holes on the branches using my Paper Piercing Tool and threaded linen thread through, securing with tape on the back and a glue dot on the front.  I tied a bow at the top of each to cover my hole and then attached each ornament using a Dimensional…

I stamped my sentiment using a stamp from Season of Joy and punched it out using the Modern Label Punch…I used it to punch out two more shapes from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and adhered them behind, finally attaching my complete sentiment to the base using Dimensionals…

How did I make the star – I cut it freehand using my sharp Paper Snips, again from a piece of paper from Deck the Halls.

I think it turned out great – and here is the photo of that tree I decorated today that gave me inspiration…look all around for inspiration…you never know where it might next come from…
