Today I challenged myself to make a clean and simple card without using ribbons…that is tough for me since I love to use ribbon on almost everything I make…

I am loving using the chance to use brand new sets featured in the Occasions Mini Catalog and decided to use two of these sets today:    Bold Blossom and You’re a Gem.

In my opinion they are the most versatile and fabulously priced in the mini – if you purchase the clear mount versions, you could get BOTH for just $22 – a great deal since they are perfect for MANY occasions throughout the year…

My card uses card stock and inks in the colors Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry and I textured the background using my Big Shot and Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder…

See that cute shape peeking out?  I made that using a piece of patterned paper from Jolly Holiday DSP and die cut it out using the fabulous Top Note Die – I then trimmed it to size to fit under my mat.

I stamped my flower stem and flower using a stamp from Bold Blossom that you can find on pg 31 of the Occasions Mini Catalog and decided to give more impact to my flower – I punched out a Razzleberry flower using my Boho Blossoms Punch and then layered on my stamped flower, having punched it out using my 1″ Circle Punch.

To give it a little bling I added a Rhinestone Jewel Accent to the center…LOVE these and you can find them on pg 188 at the fabulous price of just $4.95 for 150…

When I looked in the set You’re a Gem that is on pg 25 of the Mini Catalog I found the PERFECT phrase to match my use of a Rhinestone on my flower – it is so nice to have an alternate sentiment to use on thank you cards.  Again I used Dimensionals on this card and using them gives you such an easy way to step those cards up to have that ‘wow’ factor…
