Add Zest with Limes…

I love using Designer Series Papers on my cards – they really take the work out of creating a background or an element and make it so easy to get a beautiful look…

My card today has a fresh summery feel to it – and the piece of patterned paper that I used to create my background is from one of my favorite packs of Designer Series Papers – Berry Blossoms – that you can find on pg 185…

My card base is Early Espresso and I simply cut a piece of patterned paper from Berry Blossoms sized 4″ x 5 1/4″ to mat straight onto it…don’t you just love that lime pattern?  SO summery, fresh and vibrant…

I then used stamps from a brand new set – Best of Everything (pg 103) – to stamp my tree & flowers.  I used Markers to color the rubber of my stamp and stamped the tree onto Whisper White cardstock.

I then used Wisteria Wonder ink to stamp my flowers – just LOVE that beautiful purple color – and cut them out using sharp Paper Snips.  I added a little Pearl into the center of each and added one onto the tree using a Dimensional for a 3-D look…

I matted this piece of white cardstock onto an Espresso piece and wrapped around a piece of the beautiful new Scallop Dot Ribbon in Old Olive…

Finally I added my sentiment which I stamped using a stamp from another brand new stamp set – Pennant Parade (pg 69) and punched it out using my Word Window Punch.  I then trimmed off one end and added my other flower onto it, again using a Dimensional, and added it to my card base…

I love how summery this card turned out – and using patterned papers for your backgrounds makes it easy to jazz up cards.
