YAY – my girls went back to school on Monday signalling the end of a long hot summer and so I wanted to send them off with a little treat that they could give to their new teachers…
I searched through my papers and realised that I had the perfect designs to use to make treats in a super cute pack of Designer Series Papers called Storytime – you can find these papers on pg 163 of the catalog and you get a bunch of beautiful papers themed perfectly for school & kid projects.
And so I took these cute papers and created some Chocolate Bar Wrappers and here they are…
What do you think? I just love how they turned out and they were so quick & easy to make using the Petite Pocket Bigz Die that you can find on pg 194 of the Catalog.
Simply by changing the papers & embellishments, you could theme these wrappers for ANY occasion throughout the year…Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, Easter…and for Wedding/Shower Favors, Teacher treats…absolutely any occasion at all! And here is how I made them…
The Basic Wrapper…I took a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and simply ran it through my Big Shot using that Petite Pocket Bigz Die – I then simply folded along the score lines and used strong tape (Sticky Strip) to adhere the panels together – and the basic pocket is as easy as that to make!
I then used my 1/4″ Circle Punch to make a hole at the very top and threaded through a piece of Ribbon.
The Decoration…this is where I used those beautiful papers in Storytime DSP – I simply cut a background panel of red & blue crosshatch patterned paper and adhered it to my wrapper base.
The Cute Panels…in Storytime DSP one of the sheets features an ABC squares design and this is what it looks like:
Isn’t that cute??? And the best bit is that you get TWO of those sheets of paper in each pack so you have lots to use. I chose three little pictures that I wanted to use and simply cut them out and used my Corner Rounding Punch to shape each corner and then added it to my Chocolate Bar Wrapper using Dimensionals.
Finishing up…finally I wrapped around a piece of co-ordinating ribbon and tied a bow on the front then I popped in the chocolate – a bar of Hersheys chocolate with Almonds fits in this pocket absolutely perfectly…
Now they have to be some of the easiest teacher treats I have ever made and I will be making lots more this Holiday season!
