I am loving the new Retro Fresh suite featured in the Occasions Catalog – it is so young, vibrant and fresh – kind of spring like!
And so I decided to use a bunch of products from that suite to create a card that packs a lot of punch with it’s vibrancy – all of the Retro Fresh products co-ordinate beautifully making it easy to create projects that just go together!
Here is my vibrant, happy card…
The closer you look, the more details you will see…like the little gold sequins and the washi tape wrapped around the arrow…LOVE playing with these fab new items!
The card base…is Tangerine Tango onto which I layered a piece of Coastal Cabana…
The patterned papers…are from Retro Fresh DSP (pg 19 Occasions Catalog) – those stripes & arrow designs are fun!
The band…I cut a strip of Coastal Cabana and textured it using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (pg 191) – I then wrapped around a piece of Gold Bakers Twine (pg 24 Occasions Catalog) twice and secured with a knot in the front…
The big bold embellishments…the ‘Note’ and ‘Now with More Awesome’ embellies are from Retro Fresh This and That Stickers (pg 19 Occasions Catalog) – that is one pack of fun stickers!!! I added them to my card using Dimensionals and WOW they pack a statement, don’t they?!
SARAH’S TIP: To remove the sticky from the back of your stickers, simply sprinkle on some baby powder, rub it all over the sticky area and gently tap off the excess – and then you will have one embellishment that you can use in any way you like, such as with Dimensionals like I did…
And you get the benefit of that delicious baby powder scent…ahhh that takes me back to when my girls were tiny!!!
The sentiment…I wanted my card to read ‘Note – You + Me – Now with More Awesome! – because I thought that would be a neat card to give to my hubby – and so I added the You + Me stamp from Hip Notes (pg 18 Occasions Catalog) and cut it out using a die From Word Bubble Framelits (pg 36 Occasions Catalog) – I LOVE how this die shape is in keeping with this hip looking card!
I wanted to add a few things around that bubble and decided on a heart and a small circle made using the 1/2″ Circle Punch (pg 182)…
The glittery hearts…I punched out two hearts from Champagne Glimmer Paper (pg 156) using the Small Heart Punch (pg 183)
The arrow…is from Essentials Wooden Elements (pg 18 Occasions Catalog) and features a bunch of small wooden shapes that are fun to use, this arrow being one of them. I wrapped around a piece of washi tape from Retro Fresh This and That Designer Washi Tape (pg 19 Occasions Catalog) and finally tied around a piece of Gold Bakers Twine…
The finishing touch…I took a few sequins from a piece of Gold Sequin Trim (pg 23 Occasions Catalog) and tucked them around embellies on the card – such as around the ‘Note’ sticker here…
I love how this card turned out – it’s fun and it makes me smile every time I look at it on my card carousel!
