There is a very fun stamp set in the Holiday Catalog that features a Santa and a Nutcracker, both of whom sport mustaches…

The set is called Santa Stache and you can find it on pg 18 – and the fab thing about both of those character stamps is that they really don’t need a lot of coloring but they each make a big feature on a card or tag – making them PERFECT for batch card making!

Here is my card…I decided to go with strong, bold elements & love how it turned out…what doesn’t show well in the photos is that white layer is actually Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper which makes this card very sparkly & hints of snow…

The card base…this card is sized 5″ square and the base is Crumb Cake cardstock.  On this I layered a piece of Cherry Cobbler – cut to measure 4 1/2″ square – and this sets the bold but simple scene for the fun elements on top…

The big star…is super easy to make using a die from Stars Framelits Dies (pg 231) – I simply cut a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper (pg 193) to measure 4 1/2″ square and then placed a Star die in the center – I ran it through my Big Shot and then took the die cut star shape away, and left behind was this fantastic star framed piece which I simply attached to the card – what a great backdrop!

The Santa image…is a stamp from Santa Stache (pg 18 Holiday Catalog) that I stamped using Memento Black Ink and colored his hat using an alcohol based marker from Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities (pg 212) – LOVE how smooth these markers are!

I then stamped another mustache, cut it out and layered it on top using Dimensionals – and then I ‘fussy cut’ him out using my very sharp Paper Snips (pg 215).

Again, hard to see from the photos, but to get a bit of sparkle onto him, I used my 2-Way Glue Pen to run a line of adhesive on his hat brim and the pom pom and sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (pg 213) which ties nicely into the background…click on the ph0tos below for a larger view…

The oval layer…I wanted to add him to a small shaped layer on top of the star, and to do this cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock into an oval shape using a die from Ovals Collection Framelits (pg 231) – and to tie it into the star theme of the background, I textured it using the Lucky Stars Embossing Folder (pg 30 Holiday Catalog).

The tag…I used a fun sentiment stamp from the set Get Your Santa On (pg 30 Holiday Catalog) and cut it out using a die from Word Bubbles Framelits (pg 230)…

The finishing touch…I decided that the tag needed a little something extra and so added a small star made using a punch from Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (pg 222) and added a small Rhinestone to it…
