Today’s card is clean & simple and perfect for the beginner stamper & card maker – but equally great for the more experienced stamper to make a batch of to have on hand…
To keep it simple, this card uses just two colors on a white backdrop and all stamps I used are from the same set Vertical Greetings – I highly recommend this stamp set if you are just starting out stamping because it has three beautiful topiary images and 6 sentiment stamps perfect for many occasions – it’s a great core set to have!
Here is my card…I love the simplicity of it…
You will find a link to the printable/downloadable Project Sheet detailing all measurements, colors used & instructions on how to make this card below – look for the red text!
I used Whisper White Thick cardstock for my card base – the same crisp white as the regular Whisper White but thicker so it stands up much better as a card base than regular white does…
The two colors I used are Mint Macaron and Soft Suede – I used Markers in those colors instead of ink pads to directly color the leaves & stems on the rubber stamp – but I did use my Soft Suede ink pad to color the pot at the bottom – you can of course use the marker but the ink pad in the same color gives the pot a deeper richer color which gives it a little different definition as you can see below…
I used Dimensionals to make my stamped topiary layer pop out and a piece of Linen Thread to tie a bow for a little finishing touch – add a small embellishment like this with a blob of glue of half a glue dot and you won’t see it!
Here are the stamps you get in Vertical Greetings – look at all of those word stamps – so many phrases and so useful year round – it’s a must have! Click HERE to find it…
If you are new to stamping, this truly is a great way to start out – no messy ink pads – just a pack of White Cardstock, a few colorful Markers to get the ink onto your stamps, a Paper Trimmer, so that you can cut cardstock accurately, a set of Stamps like this one, some Adhesives and you are off! These are literally all the supplies I used to stamp the image on this card…the full supply list is below along with links so that you can explore each item better…this stamp set also comes in wood mount version too!
The Mint Macaron Marker is from the In Color 2015-17 set and the Soft Suede Markers is from the Neutrals set – those two colors work so beautifully together!
Now I don’t know if you know this little tip about Stampin Markers – I didn’t for a long while and used to constantly take the wrong cap off – but do you know how to tell which end is the thick tip and which is the thin, so you can get it right first time, every time? Each end has a white band going around it below the cap – thin band = thin tip & thick band = thick tip – sooo useful!
