It’s time for My Inky Friends Time to Sale-a-brate Blog Hop – yay! Each of us are showcasing one of the items that you can get for FREE with your orders during Sale-a-bration so please take our tour and enjoy some inspiration…
If you are starting here, a big warm welcome – and if you are already hoping in order, you will have arrived from the wonderful Kris who just showed you her beautiful projects using Epic Celebrations.
I am using the stamp set Beautiful Peacock and I have to say it is so much fun to work with – here are the images that you get in this stamp set:
I decided to show you three projects today that each use the main bird character in a different way – one bird, three different outfits! All supplies that I used are detailed on the Supply List right at the end of this post.
First up is my bright & vibrant Birthday Card…on this card I stamped the classic fanned out Peacock tail behind him…
How fun is this? I used the colors Berry Burst paired with Lemon Lime Twist and some Black & White for a striking look and added a white band of leafy texture for the outdoors.
I added on some pretty striped ribbon and Silver & White Bakers Twine for some sparkle and I fussy cut that Peacock out and added him with Dimensionals to make him pop out from his tail…
Next up is my clean & simple card for a Friend…on this card I used the swirly stem stamp to create the tail…
I kept the colors simple – Black & White with a splash of Berry Burst – and I stamped the peacock & tail and die cut it out using the large oval die from Stitched Shapes Framelits.
To get that 3D effect, I then stamped that tail part again on the white layer and added the oval to it using Dimensionals – I really like the elevation this gives as it makes the bird look like he’s on top of something…
And finally on to my Gift Box…and this time we have no additional tail, just the birdie! I wanted to show you how cool this bird looks without adding a tail to it and that when stamped in brown, this would make a great stamp to use for Thanksgiving and Autumn projects too…
The box is a Mini Pizza Box (yes, they carried over from the Holiday Catalog and are still available!) and I added some texture for a bit of a random wood look using the Seaside Embossing Folder.
The belly band wrapped around it features more wood and is a piece of patterned paper from Coffee Break DSP and that band slides right off so you can access the box below…
The colors on this box are Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, White and Soft Sky – I also added a pretty Delicate Doily to add a bit of a girly touch and that ‘For You’ stamp is from Tabs for Everything…
You can pop anything you like in here – it’s about 3 1/4″ square so you can fit a gift card, candies, trinkets or a set of notecards – these Mini Pizza Boxes are FUN to fill!
You can find the list & links for ALL supplies that I used on all three projects below…
