Welcome to 3-D Thursday and this week it is my turn to show you a little something and I decided to make a treat that would be perfect for giving on Mother’s Day or Teacher Appreciation week…

Further down this post you will find a link to the FREE Project Sheet that has step by step instructions & color photos that you can save to your computer or print out and have on hand for easy reference PLUS you will find a full list of Supplies used to make this at the end of this post.

And here is what I created…it’s an Oven Treat Box that holds a cupcake, muffin or bag of cookies!

I wanted a modern looking oven so decided on a black & stainless steel theme – using Basic Black cardstock and Silver Foil Paper to create it.

The utensil rack was a strip of Silver Foil Paper that I attached using a Mini Dimensional at each end to make it realistically stand out from the oven.  The utensils were cut out using dies from Apron Builder Framelits – some cut from Silver Foil Paper and others from Crumb Cake cardstock for a wooden look.

The tag was a Vellum circle onto which I layered a stamped image from Apron of Love and a little silver heart – isn’t that oven glove stamp cute?  It has a matching die so you can stamp & cut out fast!

The stove top continues the black & silver theme – the small backdrop knobs were created using Metallic Enamel Shapes on top of small black circles and the large enter one is a Clear Faceted Gem.

To created the burners I textured a piece of Silver Foil Paper with the Oh My Stars Embossing Folder and then used my 3/4″ Circle Punch to cut the stars out and layered them with Dimensionals onto 1″ black circles…

You can see that the oven handle is curved out from the oven – to create that realistic look simply take a strip of cardstock and mould it by curving it with your fingers – then attach each end to your project with a Mini Glue Dot.

And take a peek at this – a standard sized cupcake or muffin fits perfectly inside and I love how you can see it ‘baking’ through the window…

When designing the box I wanted a top opening box for stability and so to get to the cake inside you simply lift off the stovetop section…

To keep the cake firmly in place so that it doesn’t move around in there I created a base to hold it – easy with a circle die and it is a simple but very effective way to create a cake holder…

And here’s another view of that cake in the oven…a bag of cookies would also fit nicely in there and if you are wondering, the internal dimensions of the box are 3″ x 3″…

And here is one last look – the bottom drawer is purely cosmetic but you could adapt it to be an open space or pull out drawer if you want to get creative…

How very clever are you? A lot of thought and work has gone into the making the stove and oven.
    Well done!
