There is some fantastic inspiration in the Catalogs and today’s card comes from an idea that I found on pg 42 of the Holiday Catalog…
It features a card made using the fantastic Feathers Framelits Dies along with different materials & textures and I decided to follow this idea, change a few things and make one of my own…
And here it is…this is a card that all customers who place an order with me this week are going to be receiving in their mailboxes as a thank you…
Isn’t that just beautiful? I love the color combination (esp the infusion of blue!) and the use of different textures including Washi Tape…Washi Tape you ask? Yup…one of those feathers is created using Washi Tape!
The card base…is Whisper White onto which I layered a piece of Crumb Cake that has the wood effect stamped onto it using Crumb Cake ink and the fabulous background stamp called Hardwood (pg 175).
The feathers…aren’t they awesome? The yellow & white striped one is made simply by sticking Washi Tape from Color Me Autumn (pg 41 Holiday Catalog) diagonally onto a piece of white cardstock and then die cutting it using one of the feather dies featured in Feathers Framelits Dies (pg 42 Holiday Catalog) – easy and what a fun way to use washi!
The sparkly feather is made using Champagne Glimmer Paper (pg 193) and the blue & white one is made using a piece of paper from All is Calm DSP (pg 22 Holiday Catalog)…
They were attached to a white layer using Dimensionals and you will see that the top edge of that layer has been shaped using the fabulous Spiral Border Punch (pg 222).

I cut out my sentiment using a die from Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits (pg 188) and love how this tag looks…
The finishing touch…I wanted to add a gold button but don’t have any left…hmmm…and so I decided to make one using Brushed Gold Paper (pg 193) and two circle punches…
Simply use the 1/16″ Handheld Circle Punch to make two holes…
And then position a 1/2″ Circle Punch over them and punch 0ut!
I then added a bow using White Bakers Twine (pg 206) and my card was done…
This is an easy & very cost effective way to get a button-look on your Holiday cards without big expense or adding weight to your cards which is really important if mailing them…
