Welcome to my first ‘Project for the Weekend’!  Every Saturday morning I will be posting a project that you can easily make in a short amount of time, without needing any special tools – perfect for a little weekend papercrafting fix!

You will just need the basics like a paper trimmer, adhesives & cardstock – and I will show you how to make an item which you can then decorate however you choose – I will explain how I decorated mine in case you want to copy some elements of it, and I will also include the FREE Tutorial that you can save to your computer or print out for future reference.

These will mostly be quick, easy & seasonal projects, so that you can make them in a very short amount of time & use them in the real world at the right time, without having to shop for supplies beforehand, making them very doable & usable!

Here is my first Project for the Weekend…it’s a Post It Note Holder complete with pen slot that will be perfect for little Teacher Thanksgiving gifties!

You will find a link to the printable/downloadable Tutorial showing you how to make this project below – look for the red text!

Oh my gosh I loved making this – super cute and super easy and so rewarding because look at the end result – a beautiful little gift that you can give it as is, or you could pop it into a cello bag with a topper…if this were on my desk, it would make me smile very time I looked at it!

This really is easy to make – doesn’t look like it, right?  But it is – I promise!  All you need to make the base is ONE small piece of cardstock and you make THREE score lines – then you make just TWO little cuts with scissors to make the pen holder slot, a bit of adhesive tape to stick it in place and that is it – seriously quick & easy!

You stick down a pad of 3″ x 3″ sized Sticky Notes inside and then you get to decorate – always my favorite part!  You could stamp a sentiment on the inside cover or pop a white piece of cardstock in there so that you can write a presonal note – I left mine simple, with only the pretty paper, because I LOVE that paper!

What did I use to create mine?  I used Soft Suede cardstock for the base and that patterned paper is from Petals & Paisleys DSP (142017) – I made the white stitched stamped panel using a die from Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies (145372) and the twine I wrapped around it is Linen Thread (104199)…

That cute wintery fox stamp is from the set Cozy Critters – it’s a Host set which means that you can’t purchase it, BUT you can choose it for free when you place an order for $150+ – click HERE to find out more.  I stamped his body in Soft Suede ink and the scarf in Mint Macaron – I stamped that scarf separately, them cut it out with scissors & glued it in place.

The ‘Thankful’ stamp is from the set Acorny Thank You (139718) and I cut it out using scissors and added it over the thread using Dimensional to make it pop.
