A warm welcome to the Inky Friends Inking Up the Season Blog Hop!  We all picked a Holiday themed stamp set to work with from the Holiday Catalog and I decided to go with Brightly Lit Christmas…

If you are starting here, a big warm welcome – and if you are already hoping in order, you will have arrived from the wonderful Rhonda Griffin’s blog who just showed you her beautiful projects using stamps from Night in Bethlehem.

Sooo I am using Brightly Lit Christmas along with it’s coordinating set of dies Christmas Lamppost Thinlits which are available separately or as the Brightly Lit Christmas Bundle to make two cards to show you today – here is what you get in that bundle:

First up I wanted to make a holiday card…there are already a lot of holiday cards out there made using the fabulous lamp post that I think is the anchor stamp in this set, and I wanted to use it too – and so I decided to show you how well these stamps & dies go together with others that you might already have in your stash…

And here is what I came up with…I thought this might make a great holiday card for someone who loves bicycle riding…

I will have full details on how I made this card along with a free Project Sheet here on Monday but in a nutshell I used stamps and dies from:

  • the ‘Brightly Lit’ Bundle for the lamppost & banner (Brightly Lit Christmas stamp set & Christmas Lamppost Thinlits Dies)
  • the ‘At Home With You’ bundle to create the wreath (which I colored using the new awesome BLENDS!)
  • and the ‘Bike Ride’ Bundle for that fab bicycle

And I did have A LOT of fun playing with Embossing Paste on this card – wow I love that stuff – it makes you feel like you are a young kid back school!

You do get a wreath in Brightly Lit but I wanted one with more detailing for my lamp post and the holly berry one just suited it so well.  But I did use the wreath & coordinating die that you get in the Brightly Lit Bundle for my next card…

Which happens to be a birthday card because I wanted to show you that you can use this set year round and not just for the holidays…and I wanted it to be vibrant and fun for a teen girl and this is what I came up with…

This one was fun to make because it’s just bold and bright and makes me happy to look at it!  For the bright colors I used Lemon Lime Twist for the wreaths and the beautiful deep pink is Berry Burst.

I wanted to add a bold ‘Happy Birthday’ and found the perfect stamp to use in the set Window Shopping…

Come back on Monday to find the full details on how I made both along with free printable/downloadable Project Sheets and full supply lists PLUS I will show you a great way to use one of the dies in Christmas Lamppost Thinlits to create a frame for a photo or layer!

A big thank you for visiting – click on the ‘Next Blog’ button below to go and visit the talented Mickey and see what projects she came up with using the lovely Snowflake Sentiments set…

I love those colors, some of my favorites right now on the Birthday card. Your cards are beautiful and I loved that you took a Christmas set and mixed it up. Nice!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the bike card for Christmas. I have this stamp set so hopefully I can do one similar for hubbys birthday on 31st October using your card as an idea for him.
The 2nd is FABULOUS too. How clever using the wreath like that! I’m not a teen lol and would love to revive a card like this. BRILLIANT. XX
