Welcome to 3-D Thursday and this week it is my turn to show you a little something – I decided to create some Pizza Box Holiday table treats and one of them has a fun edible game inside!
Further down this post you will find a link to the FREE Project Sheet that has step by step instructions & color photos that you can save to your computer or print out and have on hand for easy reference.
Here they are…I made one elegant one for the grown ups and one fun nutcracker one for the kids…
The actual boxes are easy to make using just one sheet of regular sized cardstock, a paper trimmer to cut and add a few score lines and some sharp scissors to make the tabs – no special tools needed so that anyone can make them.
I thought that these might make nice table treats to pop at each place setting at Christmas or as gifts for teachers, friends, coworkers etc and you could easily theme them for Thanksgiving just by using different patterned papers.
First up is the kid one – kids get bored sitting at the table, right? Which got me thinking about something fun to engage them that is a bit different…see those X & O topped Rolos?
Open the lid and ta-dah! A little Tic Tac Toe game is inside and the playing pieces are yummy Rolos!
The insert that creates the game board in here is easy to make and also fits into the Mini Pizza Boxes featured in the Holiday Catalog – FULL INSTRUCTIONS are below on the Project Sheet – and my advice is to be sure to use THICK cardstock for the sturdiest dividers for the best results – Stampin Up carries two colors of thick cardstock in Whisper White and Very Vanilla – click HERE to find them.
If you are going to make some of these treats, I highly recommend putting a few more Rolo playing pieces of each type at each place setting as I am sure several will get eaten along the way!
The Nutcracker design paper is from Christmas Around the World DSP and the red & white snowflake paper is from Be Merry DSP – and that cute bow? From Season of Glitz Mini Bows and boy are they adorable!
Up next is the elegant version – pretty in gold, white & silver…
I love the papers on this box – they are all from Year of Cheer Specialty DSP and are so pretty in real life.
Open the lid on this box and inside are rows of golden Rolos…
And the bow on this one is made using the beautiful Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon that ties so nicely and really gives a touch of elegance…
