Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for July! We have a very patriotic set of colors to work with this month and the challenge is that we have to use ALL of these colors on our projects!
So of course being July 4th this week I just had to create a Happy Birthday card for America and here it is…
I wanted to incorporate some stars, stripes and banners and put a bicycle in there too because it reminds me of the July 4th parades around the park that my kids used to take part in when they were little – they used to decorate their bicycles and had a very fun time!
I wanted the card background to have a bit of a firework theme and so I used Basic Black for the base and the white layer is embossed with the new Scattered Sequins embossing folder to create the ‘exploding fireworks’ look.
The bicycle and flowers were stamped using stamps from the set Bike Ride and then cut out using dies from Build a Bike Framelits – I adhered the front of the basket down so that it makes it look like it wraps around like a real basket would…
I added some pretty patterned papers in red & blues onto it that I found in the Color Family stacks of DSP – I absolutely love the stripes & dots covering these papers and you can find the links to them in the supply list below.
The Blueberry Bushel colored papers were shaped using banner dies from a Bunch of Banners Framelits and Build a Bike Framelits and the ‘happy birthday’ stamp is from the Host set ‘Hand Delivered’…
I found the silver stars in Twinkle Adhesive Backed Sequins and added a few Mini Silver Sequins from the Trim to add to the dotted background…
I hope you enjoyed my card for today and be sure to take the whole hop by using the buttons below to continue in a circle – you can either go backwards to Debbie’s blog or forwards to Barb’s blog – there are A LOT of pretty cards to give you some inspiration!

Love your card Sarah! There are so many fun elements and it feels very whimsical. The circle in behind and the strips of DSP really give it some movement that complements the bike. Really awesome card!!!
AWWW such a precious card! cards with bicycles on them seem to have become a popular card topper! This one is definitely at the top of cuteness! The coloring and layering are FANTASTIC!!!!!
Such a happy card! I love it!
