Father’s Day is coming up on Sunday June 20th and today I wanted to show you a cute card I created for the occasion using the stamp set A Cut Above and the fabulous new Blending Brushes to create a neat sky background!
Sunshine and a strip of textured grass is also featured on the card making it a very fun one to create!

I created the frame using a die from Scalloped Contours Dies and then cut the center panel out using a die from Stitched Rectangles Dies.
I wanted the grass to ‘flow’ from behind the frame coming forward and I think this strip tucked behind the left side of the frame makes that happen…
I created the ‘sky’ background using the fabulous Blending Brushes and Balmy Blue Ink – SO much fun and SO easy to create! I decided I wanted to cover the whole white layer with the sky theme and not just the center panel and those blending brushes make this so easy to do! Simply rub your brush on your ink pad and swirl around onto your cardstock!
And I wanted the sky to have bright sunshine so I stamped my sentiment onto a scrap of Daffodil Delight and cut it out using a die from Layering Circles Dies to give the perfect look…
I colored in my image using various colors of Blends Markers (all detailed in the supply list and project sheet below) and for the finishing touches I used my Dark Black Blends Marker to color three Rhinestone Jewels and added them to each wheel of the lawnmower and in front of the Happy Fathers Day wording – Blends Markers make it so easy to customize those and the Pearls!
