I am in a monthly swap club and for the last card front we had to come up with a 4 x 4 card – I decided to create a card with a simple and clean look and used a bold color accent and one of my most favorite embellishments – Rub-ons – I think they look fabulous when used on Window Sheets…they have a very elegant look about them…
I cut a piece of DSP to size – 4 x 4 – I chose a piece from the Bella Rose pack that had white in it that would co-ordinate with the rub-on and ribbon. I cut a piece of Riding Hood Red Cardstock to layer onto this whilst leaving a nice border around it and to give it some dimension, I ran it through my Big Shot using a Texturz Plate from the Backgrounds no. 1 pack that you can find on pg 203 of the Catalog. I then cut a square in the center using my Hobby Blade and Cutting Mat.
I took my Hidden Garden Rub-ons and applied one of them to a Window Sheet – you can find these window sheets in the Occasions Mini Catalog – I cut it to size and adhered it to the back of the Riding Hood Red Cardstock. I then cut a piece of brown patterned DSP from Bella Rose to create a background for the rub-on and adhered it to the card base being sure to line it up so that it would be beneath the window.
I then stamped my sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon using Chocolate Chip Ink and attached it to the back of the red cardstock and tied a knot in front for a finishing touch. I used dimensionals to attach the red layer to the card base to give it a lift and give a real ‘window’ look and voila – a very simple, clean looking card that is perfect for any occasion :-)
You can find the wonderful Window Sheets on pg 10 of the Occasions Mini Catalog – the link to which is on the right – and there you will also find the fabulous printed Window Sheets called Clearly Thanks – I love them and you can see a card I made using them if you scroll down to my dandelion card…
Right now the packs of DSP (Designer Series Papers) are on sale – buy 3 and get 1 FREE – you can find further details of this promotion to the right. If you have any questions please Contact Me and I will be very happy to help.
Happy Monday :-)
