Can you believe that this treat holder is made from a basic brown paper Lunch Bag?
It is SO easy and affordable to make – you can pick up 50 of these brown bags for around $1 in any grocery store and you simply fold, secure and decorate – there is a pocket in the front to hold a little treat such as a Gift Card and then there is the big pouch in the back to hold another larger treat…
I used patterned papers from Deck the Halls to decorate my bag and trimmed it with a piece of gorgeous Seam Binding…I used my Scallop Edge Border Punch to trim the top of my bag and pocket and finished with a tag…
I stamped my tag using a stamp from the versatile set Perfect Punches, punched it out using my Scallop Circle Punch and then I tied it to my ribbon using Linen Thread…it is SO easy to make and what a fabulous way to present a gift card…
Want to see how easy it is to make one? Here are those easy steps…
You take a lunch bag in the size and color of your choice and fold it…
You then secure the sides – I used staples but you could use brads or eyelets…
If you wish, you can shape the top edge of your bag using a punch – I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch on mine…
And you decorate as wished with pretty patterned papers, stamps, ribbons…whatever your heart desires…
I also trimmed the front pocket with a scallop border too – I didn’t want to punch through the thick bag there and so I simply took another lunch bag and cut off a strip to use to punch my trim – I then adhered my trimmed strip in place with Sticky Strip…
And now you simply fill your bag with treats – I put a Starbucks gift card in my front pouch and a bar of delicious chocolate and a peppermint stick in the back pouch – yum!!!
