Phew…what a very busy Christmas we had! Wow – it was such fun but I am ready to get back to normal after the flurry of activity…

Today I decided to work on a simple card to send out for gift thank you’s and used a stamp set that I haven’t used in a while – Home for Christmas.

I just love this set but I know that some of my customers have it and don’t often use it because they are intimated by the thought of the coloring in that image…well, I have an easy solution for them – don’t color it!   It looks absolutely fabulous simply stamped in ink and left like that, as you can see below…

I simply stamped my beautiful image onto Very Vanilla card stock – that’s it – no coloring required…you could add some glitter to the snowy parts for a bit of sparkle if you want to jazz it up a little but I love it ‘au naturel’…

My card base is Early Espresso card stock onto which I matted a piece of Crumb Cake that I textured using my Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder – I love the look that folder gives…I then matted another piece of Early Espresso on top and added a piece of Victoria Crochet Trim.

My sentiment uses the ‘thanks‘ stamp from the set Fabulous Phrases which I stamped onto Very Vanilla and punched out and matted using my 1″ and 1 1/4″ Circle Punches.

I attached my stamped image using Dimensionals and for a finishing touch added a knot to the side…and there is my very simple but beautiful Holiday thank you card.

Embossing Folders make it so easy and cost-effective to add texture to your cards – unlike patterned papers, you can’t ‘use them up’ – they are $7.95 each and will last you forever.  You can find them by clicking HERE or on pg 214 of the Catalog and will also find a couple in the Holiday Mini Catalog too – they are so versatile and I truely believe they are one of the best investments you can make – I use them on almost every item I make!

Have a wonderful Monday – come back and see me tomorrow for Tutorial Tuesday!
