Today I decided to challenge myself to use bright colors…I don’t often use my Brights as I’m more of an earthy-jewel tones kind of girl and brights are outside of my comfort zone…
So Brights…mmm…looking at my stamps I decided to make a fun & colorful birthday card and decided to fit in a stamp from Punch Bunch…this is one of the stamp sets featured in the Sale-a-bration Catalog that you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase right now…
I used the colors Real Red, Pacific Point and Old Olive as they work together really well to give that primary color impact…and for a fun design, I decided to create a gift bag with balloons coming out of it…I used papers from the Designer Series Paper pack Celebrations that you can find of pg 173 to continue my bold and bright image & color theme…
My Happy Birthday image? Made using a stamp from Punch Bunch which is a set of 5 – you can see a picture of the images in this fabulously versatile set at the end of this post…I stamped it once in blue ink and punched it out using my Scallop Square Punch…I stamped it again using red ink and cut it to size with my paper trimmer, adding it onto my blue scallop base with Dimensionals.
My gift bag? Made using a piece of patterned paper from that pack onto which I added a twine handle – I added some little pieces of white tissue paper to stick out of the top to make it more authentic and added the bag to my card base using Dimensionals.
My balloons? Made using a stamp from the set Party This Way that you can find on pg 53 and I added a piece of white embriodery floss for their strings…I cut them out using my Paper Snips – these wonderful scissors make it a piece of cake to cut your images out precisely…
There are two pieces of paper in Celebrations that have the exact same numbers design as this balloon stamp – I didn’t use that paper on my card as it would have been too overpowering, but it would be fabulous to use this stamp plus the paper on scrapbook pages…what a great look it would give!
