When we remodelled our bathroom last year we decided to put espresso colored blinds at the windows and during the summer we leave the blinds open as there is a big beautiful tree directly outside that provides coverage and is gorgeous to look out on…

I often stare out of this window and love seeing the vibrant green color of the leaves against the dark brown of the blinds but soon the leaves will turn brown and fall away and so today I decided to take a photo and use it as inspiration for a card…this is what I came up with…

I used stamps from the set Season of Friendship (pg 120) and stamped the tree in Early Espresso ink…I wanted a vibrant green so I stamped the leaves using Old Olive ink, cut them out and adhered them using dimensionals…we have had a family of Red Cardinals in the garden this year and so I stamped my bird using Cherry Cobbler to represent them…

My tag is simple – the sentiment is from the same stamp set and I attached a piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding that you can find on pg 21 of the Holiday Mini Catalog…

I used Early Espresso for my base onto which I adhered a piece of DSP from Greenhouse Gala (pg 173) – I used dimensionals to attach strips of Espresso cardstock onto this to resemble the blinds and layered my vanilla top piece, again using dimensionals…you can see from the photo above the dramatic look you get when using these & they make it easy to give your cards a luxurious look.

Here is my photo of my bathroom window that I used for inspiration for making this card…

If you have a creative roadblock, take a look around you in your home or garden and see if anything inspires a layout…I guarantee you’ll come up with something…inspiration is all around us and sometimes in the most suprising places…enjoy your Sunday…

Love this card and look at how you captured the blinds in the design. Very nice
