Today I decided to make a simple black and white card featuring brand new papers and stamps…

The paper I used is from the specialty pack First Edition that you can find on pg 25 of the Occasions Mini Catalog – for patterned papers it is bargain priced at $11.95 for 24 sheets of double sided papers and features printed sheets reminiscent of books, newspapers and encyclopedias…

My card base is Very Vanilla card stock onto which I layered a piece of Basic Black – see that gorgeous texture on it?  I made that using my Big Shot and brand new Framed Tulips Embossing Folder that you can find on pg 28 of the Occasions Mini…

I then took a piece of patterned paper from First Edition and to give it that neat shape, ran it through my Big Shot using my Top Note Die –  I love that look…

Like the butterfly? I love how it suits my card perfectly because it has that printed look to it…well it is from a brand new set that you will be able to get for free during Sale-a-bration – it is featured in the Sale-a-bration Catalog and is part of a set called Bliss – this cool stamp set also has a gorgeous flourish image amongst others and I just love it…I stamped and cut out my butterfly and added some Pearls to the center to give it a great little accent…

I mounted my butterfly onto a piece of textured black card stock that I textured using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and then punched out using the fabulous Decorative Label Punch.

My sentiment was stamped using a stamp from the new set You’re a Gem that you can find on pg 25 of the Occasions Mini – I punched it out using my 3/4″ Circle Punch, matted it onto a 1″ Circle of black and added yet another cute Pearl…
