I spent some time scrapbooking last evening and forgot just how much I enjoy playing with patterned papers…and so today I decided to make a card using papers…no stamps or inks…just beautiful papers.

And so I choose to use some from the Botanical Gazette pack of Designer Series Papers that you can find in the Occasions Mini Catalog – it features beautiful nature themed designs including two sheets of gorgeous butterflies…

The colors of cardstock I used on my card are Very Vanilla and Soft Suede – that piece of patterned Rich Razzleberry paper provides a beautiful textured look for a background…

I cut my butterflies out to be sized 1 3/4″ square and attached them onto my suede square using Dimensionals – see the texture on that suede mat?  I used my Big Shot and Square Lattice Embossing Folder to create that look – that folder gives card stock a fabric-like appearance…click on my photo above for a closer look.

For my finishing touch I wrapped around a piece of doubled up Hemp Twine – I tied a bow, again using two pieces together, and added it to my card using a Mini Glue Dot…

No sentiment?  In the spirit of using paper alone, I decided not to ink up a stamp to add a sentiment – plus I always like to have a blank card or two on hand for those occasions where you just need to say a little something…and don’t know what until the time comes around…

Appears as though I’m looking out the window seeing beautiful butterflies. Great all-occasion card!
