Have you seen the beautiful new Summer Mini Catalog yet?
It has some wonderful new products and stamps in it including one of my new favorite stamps – Sail Away – that you can find on pg 11.
Sail Away is a beautiful single stamp that features a yacht in a hand-sketched style and I have used it with the brand new Nautical Expedition DSP to create my card below…
I usually find it tricky making masculine cards but this stamp and that paper made it really easy – you could switch out that sentiment for Happy Birthday, Happy Father’s Day, Thank You – whatever you need!
My card base is made using Early Espresso cardstock and I added a piece of blue patterned paper from Nautical Expedition DSP that you can find on pg 8 of the Summer Mini Catalog – in that pack you will find lots of beautiful papers with a vintage feel to them in subdued blues, reds and browns…
I stamped my image and matted it onto a piece of Espresso cardstock that I textured using my Big Shot and Square Lattice Embossing Folder – LOVE the texture that folder gives – and to give it a bit more of an ‘aged’ look I distressed three of those edges using my Cutter Kit (pg 199)…
Finishing touches? I added 3 Pewter Brads to my mat and stamped my ‘Happy Retirement’ using a stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes (pg 157) and punched it out using my Word Window Punch – Teeny Tiny Wishes is well worth the investment as it has a sentiment for almost every occasion and I reach for it many times each week…
Like the thread and anchor? I wrapped around a piece of the fabulous & brand new Bakers Twine that you can find on pg 10 of the Summer Mini – and what a great price – just $2.95 for 25 yards of it! And for the anchor I used my 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch it out from a sheet of Nautical Expedition DSP.

I made the card featured above as part of May’s Creative Crew Challenge at Splitcoaststampers – amongst other things we had to come up with a layout and devise two cards using it – one masculine and one feminine…here is my feminine Flower Garden one:
It uses Basic Black and Very Vanilla and I created the central panel using my Big Shot and brand new Flower Garden Embossing Folder that you can find on pg 24 of the Summer Mini…
I textured that black layer using my Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and added cute Pearls to the side – and just like my masculine card, I also distressed this mat on 3 sides using my Cutter Kit
I used the beautiful Victoria Crochet Trim to embellish it and added a piece of First Edition DSP on my card base …
AND DID YOU KNOW THAT FIRST EDITION DSP IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ORDER? It DID NOT retire when the Occasions Mini did, you can still purchase it – yippee!!! Here are the ordering details:
