Beautifully simple…

And simply beautiful…today’s card shows you a fun way to incorporate some of those gorgeous Designer Series Papers into your papercrafting.

The papers I have used on my card come from Pocketful of Posies DSP which you can find on pg 184 of the Catalog…as soon as I saw the papers in that pack I loved them – especially those beautiful flowers…

My card base is sized 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ and this size of card will fit perfectly into a Medium Square Envelope that you can find on pg 182.  I decided to go with simply Whisper White for my base so that my image would really stand out.

And that image? Just beautiful – in a pack of DSP you get 12 sheets of double sided papers – 2 of each design – and there are lots more fabulous patterns in Pocketful of Posies to choose from!

I choose the piece of DSP that I wanted to use and cut out my image to be 4″ x 4″ – I then used my paper trimmer to cut it into 4 strips of 1″ and then cut each strip into 1″ pieces – be sure to piece it together as you go to make sure you get your image correctly positioned!

And a handy helpful hint from Sarah – if it’s hot where you are like here where it’s currently 105, and if you have a fan running – be sure to turn it off whilst you piece your image together – otherwise you end up with 1″ bits of paper flying all around the room!!!

I then adhered each piece onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and when finished, trimmed it to size.  I added it to my base using Dimensionals to give it a bit of a lift from the base…

Next I stamped my sentiment with Night of Navy ink using a stamp from the Hostess set Precious Butterflies (pg 15) – LOVE this set and it costs just $12 Hostess Dollars which is an amazing deal…here are the images in that set:

And finally I used my Oval Punch to punch it out and matted it onto two more Navy ovals, and added it to my card again using Dimensionals.
