Farewell to Funky Four…

I just love the little set Funky Four and will be very sad to say goodbye to it…you see it is one of the stamp sets that is retiring on May 31st – in just 8 days time – and once it’s gone, it’s never coming back…

It is a set of 4 and you can find it on pg 88 of the Catalog…images feature a row of mushrooms, a tree, a plant and a flower…fun, cute & versatile!

This set lends itself perfectly to making clean & simple cards – it is very quick & easy to create eye catching cards using those stamps as you can see from the card I made below…

For a very clean & simple look I used Whisper White for my base & layers…I added splashes of color with Soft Suede and Primrose Petals circles…and decided to keep my circle theme going by incorporating it into my background layer too…

Notice the ‘old’ mixed in with the ‘new’ on my card?

For the ‘old’ – I used the the mushroom stamps from the set Funky Four along with my Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.

For the ‘new’ – I used the delicious brand new pink In Color called Primrose Petals…it is just gorgeous…

AND I was very excited to use two more brand new products debuting in the new Catalog on June 1st:

• a sentiment stamp from the brand new set Itty Bitty Banners – if you are lucky enough to have received your copy of the new Catalog, you will find it on pg 134
• I then die cut my sentiment out using a brand new co-ordinating Framelit from the pack Bitty Banners Framelits – on pg 191 of the new Catalog – you can see that die cut shape closer in my photo below.

The Bitty Banners Framelits make it super easy to cut those cool banners you keep seeing everywhere – it takes me ages to cut those V shapes with my scissors and it is next to impossible o get them looking the same at each end – but now I just use my Bitty Banners Framelits and they are perfect every time!

And even better that the sizes co-ordinate perfectly with the sentiment stamps in Itty Bitty Banners – be sure to check out both of those fabulous new products when your catalog arrives.

For a finishing touch I decided to add 3 small Pearls to my center mushroom – this carries on the circle theme some more plus gives a little extra bling to my card…
