One of my favorite packs of Designer Series Papers is Afternoon Picnic DSP – I love it because it features beautiful vintage designs along with some newspaper style sheets – and being an English gal, how can I resist those beautiful tea themed sheets?!

You can find Afternoon Picnic DSP on pg 151 and today I decided to use it on my card to create a banner along the top, using one of my most favorite color combos – brown, blue & vanilla…

You can find Afternoon Picnic DSP on pg 151 of the annual Catalog or in the online store by clicking HERE – you get 12 sheets of double sided papers and they are all co-ordinated making using them easy & fun and they are all just plain gorgeous!

The card base…is Coastal Cabana onto which I layered a piece of Very Vanilla and then a piece of Baked Brown Sugar (LOVE that name – it makes me want to eat cake LOL!!!)

The banner…is easy to make and so effective…you can either cut the shapes using your Paper Trimmer or do what I did – I used my Big Shot and some Framelits dies to make it super easy – all papers are from Afternoon Picnic DSP and I used dies from Bitty Banners Framelits (pg 187) and a die from Hearts a Flutter Framelits (pg 187) to cut my shapes quickly & easily…

The ribbon…is a piece of 7/16″ Natural Trim Ribbon (pg 173) that is soft & easy to tie…I adhered it to the back of my brown layer and used it to cover the top edge of my banner pieces…click on the photo below for a larger view…

The words…are stamped directly onto the brown layer using one stamp from the Oh, Hello stamp set (pg 34) and Soft Suede Ink.

Finishing touch…I decided to add a button from Very Vintage Designer Buttons (pg 169) and tied through a piece of Linen Thread (pg 173)…but it needed something else…and so I decided to make a little backdrop for my button and stamped a pattern using another stamp from Oh, Hello and then punched out a circle using my 1″ Circle Punch, layered my button ontop and voila – the perfect little finishing touch…
