One of my favorite activities at Founders Circle is the Swap Event – this year 113 attendees took part and is it SO MUCH FUN!

Of course one of the hardest things is coming up with your swap card to share with those 112 other people but I decided to not ‘reinvent the wheel’ and to use one of my favorite recent cards and tweak it to create my swap…

And here is is…it uses one of my favorite stamp sets & co-0rdinating die bundles in the Holiday Catalog called Holiday Home Bundle featured on pg 16…

I did plan for this card to have some ribbon on it, but as soon as I had ordered it, the ribbon had gone onto back-order and so I had to hussle and come up with something different!

And so I decided on two panels with stars each side that I made using the FABULOUS Confetti Stars Punch (pg 30 of the Holiday Catalog)…now let me tell you, that was ALOT of punching LOL…here is the pile of black stars after I had finished…you can see why they call it ‘confetti’!!!

The card base…is simply Lost Lagoon cardstock onto which I layered a piece of Basic Black that had both sides punched out using the punch above – I love how those blue stars peek through – such a chilly snowy look!

The tag…the ‘ho ho ho’ words are from the stamp set Get Your Santa On (pg 30 Holiday Catalog) and I cut out the words using a die from Banners Framelits Dies (pg 231).

The feature panelthe base is a piece of Whisper White cardstock onto which I directly stamped the lamp in black ink and the snowflakes in Lost Lagoon ink.

The houses…I stamped the houses using Versamark Ink (pg 210), sprinkled on White Embossing Powder and heat set them using my Heat Tool (pg 213).  I then cut them out using the perfectly co-ordinating house shaped dies in Homemade Holidays Framelits and attached them to my panel.

The moon…to create this I punched out a circle of Smoky Slate cardstock using my 1 3/8″ Circle Punch (pg 221), and stamped Santa & his reindeer flying through the night over it – CUTE!!!

The finishing touch…I added a Lost Lagoon Confetti star along with a little Rhinestone to the tag for a cute-sy look!

I love how my card turned out – and I loved all of the other cards that I received and will showcasing some of them over the next few weeks to give you some fabulous ideas for your own Holiday card making!
